Agents say, “The next level is starting a real estate team.” That’s not automatically true. When I hit 75 homes a year, I thought building a team was the natural progression. More agents. More leads. Office space. More volume. What I actually created was more stress, more risk, and more hours. I was working more, not less. Carrying payroll. Managing people. Chasing problems. The truth is simple. A team multiplies responsibility before it multiplies freedom. If you ignore that, you can build a business that looks successful and feels miserable. More money on paper. Less control over your life. Leadership starts with honesty. If what you want is more money and more freedom, you have to question the default path. For me, that meant doing something different.
