Today we lost a man who changed childhood forever 😔 While the world will remember Ted Turner for creating CNN and revolutionizing television news, so many of us millennials and 90s kids will remember him for something even more personal… giving us Cartoon Network. Because of Ted Turner, millions of kids rushed home after school to worlds filled with imagination, comfort, laughter, and creativity. Without his vision, there may never have been late nights watching Courage the Cowardly Dog, afternoons with Ed, Edd n Eddy, sleepovers full of Dexter’s Laboratory, or the unforgettable era of Johnny Bravo and The Powerpuff Girls. He helped create a place that didn’t just air cartoons… it defined an entire generation. Cartoon Network wasn’t just a channel. It was a feeling. It was the Checkerboard logo glowing in a dark living room. It was pizza rolls, bean bag chairs, CRT televisions, and hearing “Cartoon Cartoon Fridays” start up on a Friday night. It was childhood. Ted Turner understood something so many corporations forget today: animation mattered. Kids mattered. Creativity mattered.
