Tier 2 reveals how your strength behaves under speed. In the VALD framework, Tier 2 builds directly on your Tier 1 benchmark. Once we understand baseline force and symmetry, we introduce faster, less controlled movement to see how that capacity holds up. This tier focuses on jump-based assessments: • Single-leg jump • Countermovement jump • Squat jump Here, we’re measuring more than height. We’re assessing how quickly force is produced, absorbed, and redirected. Reactive strength. Rate of force development. Limb-to-limb asymmetries. Single-leg testing highlights imbalances that may stay hidden under bilateral load. Countermovement jumps show how efficiently you decelerate and reaccelerate—critical for cutting, landing, and late-stage return to play. Squat jumps remove momentum entirely, isolating pure concentric output from the bottom. Tier 2 answers a different question than Tier 1: How well does your system express power when time, control, and margin for error are reduced? This is where resilience becomes visible. Where recovery supports speed. Where performance begins to evolve dynamically. Tier 1 sets the benchmark. Tier 2 tests it in motion. Tier 3 (keep an eye out 👀) will refine it with precision. This is performance, redefined. Have you done level 2 yet? Where do you think speed changes the story for YOU? #ThePerformanceShift #RecoveryIsPerformance #PelvicHealth #BuiltToEndure

In this session with @maggie.krall we were focusing on generating lots of effort with high intent to move fast. Our goal is to begin to shift her (amazing!) strength into strength that can work fast. Exercise 1: high rate isometric leg work using the @pitch.six forceboard to show the rate of force development (RFD) for each rep noticing effort and when fatigue sets in to cut the set off. Exercise 2: depth drop jump measuring with the @ovrperformance Jump measuring tools to calculate RSI realtime. We are trying to jump as high as possible as quickly as possible and using the iso strength to prime a better jump.

New toy unlocked. ⚡️ We’re using a new Output Sports tool to measure two big markers of “staying capable”: Power + Balance. Strength is the foundation. But power matters too—because real life (and sport) doesn’t happen in slow motion. Power = how quickly you can produce force. Think: catching yourself if you trip, getting up off the floor, moving with snap and confidence. And on the sport side: a faster first step, a more explosive drive, a cleaner jump, a stronger swing. Our approach: measure it → train it → re-test it so progress is visible (and honestly… a little addictive). 📈

A jump can look perfect… and still hide problems. . ForceDecks shows what the eye can’t see: • Asymmetry % → one leg working harder = overload over time • Peak Force → how much force you can actually produce (your real explosiveness) • RSI / Reactivity → how efficiently you absorb and re-use force — key for speed, change of direction, and injury risk. . Two athletes can jump the same height. Only one is ready to perform safely. . We don’t guess readiness. We measure it. . #DataDrivenTraining #ForceDecks #VALDPerformance #SportsScience #StrengthAndConditioning ReturnToPlay InjuryPrevention AthleteDevelopment Explosiveness PerformanceTraining TrainSmart ObjectiveCoaching TennisTraining PadelTraining BasketballTraining

During VALDCONX LA, I took out my phone stopwatch and timed how long the new group testing mode took to test 3 athletes. To zero the plates, weigh the athlete, and perform 3 high quality reps of the CMJ per athlete, took all of 90 seconds. Yes, you can implement longer recoveries between reps if you desire, yes you can spend time showing results to the athlete after each trial, but if you’re interested in mass testing without losing quality - group testing mode is one of the most impressive features ForceDecks users now have access to 💥

I’ve been even more excited about these force plates from @valdcanada than I expected 😅 Not because they look cool (they do). But because of what they have been showing me and (more importantly) you. This video is a single-leg iso push. From the outside, it looks simple. Almost boring. But under the hood? We’re seeing: • how much force each side can actually produce • how quickly it can get there • whether I’m loading evenly or sneaking force somewhere else • and how consistent I am rep to rep Stuff your eye can’t reliably catch. What has been coolest is having data and visual proof to show whether our hypotheses about what were going on are true or not. It’s not about chasing numbers for the sake of numbers. It’s about turning vague feelings and ideas about what we need to work on into something tangible that can show ME if my eyes are lying to me or not, and can help explain to YOU what I am seeing. Or even better, can prove me wrong so we don't waste time working on the wrong things. This kind of testing has already changed how I think about progressing somebody back to sports, running, and lifting. What a cool job I have. #forceplates #sportsphysio #sportsrehab #sportsinjury #physiotherapy

Some of us use them every week, but do we actually know how force plates work? Force plates use sensors such as piezoelectric or strain gauges to measure ground reaction forces. For example, @vald_performance ForceDecks technology uses strain gauges within the platform’s load cells to detect stress, which is proportional to the force applied by the athlete. This allows for detailed insights into how force is produced and distributed. For my full video on "How Force Plates Work", comment "FP2" and I'll send you the link.

Your jump height isn’t the test—it’s the result. ForceDecks break down force production, symmetry, and efficiency so we train what actually transfers to the field. Anyone can tell you how high you jump, but using VALD technology, we can get data that will help us adjust training strategies to specifically target weaknesses to help you get the most out of your training and reach your peak athletic potential. #athletedevelopment #sportsperformance #quickerstrongerfaster #trainlikeanathlete #explosivepower

Technology does not replace coaching. It supports it. I use Output Sports to measure things like jump height, contact time and bar speed. Not to compare athletes. Not to chase numbers. But to give young athletes clear feedback, visible progress and something objective to improve. When athletes can see their performance, effort increases. Intent sharpens. And progress becomes measurable. Data should guide development. Not define it.

Force Decks give us crucial data in real time that allows us to tailor training programs for athletes specific needs to take them to the next level. Each jump test gives us various data points on force production, exact asymmetry percentages, jumping and landing techniques, and more. The shoulder isometric tests show us how strong overhead athletes like baseball players are in various realistic positions. We get exact data on: - How much force is being applied - How fast the force is applied - How an athlete can sustain force production This is crucial and gives us insight on how to protect throwers shoulders by adjusting training strategies to target deficiencies. #athletedevelopment #trainsmart #sportscience #performancetesting #forcedecks
