✨ Magical Forest📍British Columbia If you grew up in BC you probably know how absolutely magical this forest is. As you walk through the trails, you can feel all the love that has been put into every fairytale creature and the land itself. A bit of history👇🏽 Doris Needham was an artist in Revelstoke during the 1950’s. She made unusual fairy tale figurines all by hand. She wanted somewhere to put all her magical art, so with the love and support from her husband Ernest, they created @theenchantedforestbc ✨ If you haven’t been, be sure to put📍The Enchanted Forest on your list ❤️ - #revelstoke #theenchantedforest #britishcolumbia #travelbc #explorebc #bccanada #beautifulbc #magic #kootenays

Experience the cinematic sights of the Great Bear Rainforest. Stretching along BC's central and northern coasts, this part of the province has lush green surroundings and diverse wildlife. Is there anything more soothing than the soft sound of the rain hitting the tree canopy high above the forest floor? Embrace the rain and take cover amongst the trees of the 📍Rainforest Loop Trail. 🚨 The BC government is targeting THIS ancient forest for CLEAR CUTTING. BC Timber Sales is a government agency that, despite being meant to work in the public interest continues to log some of the province’s oldest trees. The forest pictured above (cut block 50417) would be logged as part of timber sales license TA1643 near Winter Harbor on Northern Vancouver Island. BC Timber Sales is currently accepting public comments on this project. This cut block overlaps with an area designated as a priority deferral area by the government’s own technical advisory panel. Comments will be accepted from October 15 to November 14, 2025. Comments may be submitted directly through fom.nrs.gov.bc.ca/public/projects or emailed to [email protected]. Please submit comments requesting the removal of cut block 50417 from this project. BC’s leaders have promised time and time again to protect old growth forests and yet the logging continues, and the government appears to be backpedaling on the issue. Officials like @davidebybc and @rparmarbc are complicit in the destruction of some of the last of these ancient forests. Old growth forests are critical in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss. The fact that British Columbia allows them to be logged in 2025 is a damning indictment of current government policy and will go down in history as one of the province’s biggest mistakes. Please call or email David Eby and tell them that the world is watching as he allows the destruction of these forests. 250-387-1715 [email protected] #climatechange #endoldgrowthlogging #oldgrowthforests #beautifulbritishcolumbia #beautifulbc #publiclands #oldgrowth

The forest is breathing because Von Trier wanted so! Or at least it seems like it… What’s happening is mechanical: strong wind pushes the trees, and because their roots are shallow and the soil is loose, the entire root system lifts and drops, moving the ground with it. In many cases, this is a sign that the trees are unstable and close to uprooting. It looks calm, almost rhythmic, but it’s a moment of strain. (Credit to Marcio Leão and David Nungent-Malone.
