《 The Stores 》 In a bid to explore more of our local area we recently found ourselves in Great Waltham Village, which is home to Coffee Shop & Deli, @thestoresgreatwaltham. ☕️ If you’ve never been to Great Waltham before, I’d recommend exploring. There’s a beautiful church, access to The Essex Way walk, plus Langleys estate, which is a grade II listed manor worth having a nosy around. 🏰 The Stores is one of the few eateries and is the perfect spot for coffee, brunch and lunch. Open Tuesdays through to Saturday until 4 pm. 🫖 The space is creative as the tables, and chairs for diners are sat amongst colourful artwork on the walls and lifestyle gifts for sale decorating the shelves. The deli displays fresh food such as salads, tarts and sandwiches, plus the counter is filled with delicious cakes. 🖼 As well as deli items, the menu offers brunch dishes until 2 pm and lunch till 3 pm. When I recently visited with my mum, we chose the Eggs Royale (we often choose the same thing!) and English Breakfast tea for two. 🍳 You have to order your meal at the counter, which we weren’t told when we arrived so we were waiting for someone to come to our table for some time. However, once the order arrived, we were delighted to see two golden yolk poached eggs on toasted muffins and smoked salmon and hollandaise - hands down my fav brunch dish! 🐟 If you’ve local to Great Waltham, why not try Woodley's wood-fired pop-up pizza every Friday night @thestoresgreatwaltham.
