📘 Third Conditional – Unreal Past & Regret We use the Third Conditional to talk about imaginary situations in the past—things that didn’t happen and cannot be changed now. 👉 Structure: If + past perfect, would have + V3 📝 Examples: • If I had studied harder, I would have passed the exam. • If she had left earlier, she would have arrived on time. • If we had known the truth, we would have acted differently. 📌 Remember: ✔ Talks about the past ✔ Used for regret & past imagination ❌ No will have in the if-clause #ThirdConditional #EnglishGrammar #LearnEnglish #SpokenEnglish #EnglishLessons #ConditionalSentences #GrammarTips #EnglishForBeginners #DailyEnglish #ImproveEnglish #SimpleEnglish #StudyEnglish #GrammarBasics

How natives really pronounce the third conditional 😳🗣🇬🇧 I would have helped you if I had been there. 🗣 I would've helped you if I'd been there. ⬇️ Contracting: would have = would've I had = I'd you had = you'd he had = he'd she had = she'd we had = we'd they had = they'd Especially with the third conditonal in spoken English we contract to make the sentence shorter and easier to say. Here are some more, PRACTICE saying them aloud ⬇️🗣🎯 👉 She would've sent it to you if you'd asked her yesterday. 👉 If you'd told me, I would've spoken to her for you. 👉 They would've charged you extra if they hadn't known you were a good friend of mine. 👉 He would've got a higher grade if he'd made an effort. #english #englishgrammar #learnenglish #learnenglishonline  #howdoyousay #ingles #phrasalverbs #inglesonline #estudiaringles #quotations #motivation #selfdevelopment #teacher #englishteacher #daily #instagram #hello #inglese #英语 #postoftheday #follow #imparal'inglese #native #nativeteachers

Do you know how to use mixed conditionals in English? If you’ve been learning English for a while, you’re probably already familiar with the four conditionals, but if you’d like to take your English a step further in order to reach a more advanced level, it’s a good idea to learn mixed conditionals as well, which are simply just combinations of the second and third conditionals. If you’re familiar with the four conditionals, you know that each one is used to talk about a certain point in time. The zero and second conditionals talk about the present, the first conditional talks about the future, and the third conditional talks about the past. However, mixed conditionals use TWO points in time to express an idea, and in today’s video, I teach you one very common type of mixed conditional that native speakers actually use. To make the type of mixed conditional that I talk about in today’s video, we have to know what the second and third conditionals are. Here’s a quick recap of them: 🔹Second conditional = used to talk about imaginary situations that aren’t happening now in the PRESENT, and is made with the formula “If + past tense verb + would”: If it were raining right now, I would be sad. 🔸Third conditional = used to talk about imaginary situations that did NOT happen in the PAST, and is made with the formula “If + past perfect tense verb + would have”: If he had come, he would have helped me. To make a mixed conditional, we can combine the formulas of the second and third conditionals. Here’s one example: 🔹Past/present mixed conditional = used to say that, if something HAD BEEN different in the past, something WOULD be different now, and is made with the formula “If + past perfect tense verb + would”: If I had learned French in high school, I would be fluent in it now. Now, practice using the past/present mixed conditional by writing a sentence with it in the comments below, and if you’d like a part 2 with more mixed conditionals, let me know in the comments as well! 😊 . . . . . #english #learnenglish #languagelearning #englishlanguage #englishteacher #englishtutor #englishonline #englishgrammar #advancedenglish #esl
