How to tip ears the easy way 👇🏼 👂🏻 Open the ear and run your thumb and index finger to the edge of the ear. Using a #40 blade, shave off any hair that goes past your fingers. 👂🏻Flip the ear around so the inside of the ear faces backward, and repeat the process on the other side. Shave about 1/3 of the way down the ear from the tip to maintain a balanced look. 👂🏻Next, use a #10 or #15 blade to trim the back side of the ear. Oh, Sabrina! For those of you have been following - you’ve seen this girlie around! We rescued Sabrina back in May. What we originally thought to be swimmer’s syndrome, turned out to be pelvic trauma that resulted in paralysis. Since she was so young, the orthopedic surgeon and neurologist agreed that the best course of action was to monitor and see how she developed as she grew. She had a twisted pelvis, minor use of her left rear leg, and no use of her rear right leg. We discovered quickly that she needed to be manually expressed multiple times a day since she didn’t have control over her bladder and only a small amount over her bowels. We also started her on acupuncture and an Assisi loop to assist with healing. Sabrina is now almost 6 months old. Her pelvis remains twisted, she gained some more use of her left leg, but her right leg remains paralyzed with no feeling. At her last recheck, they found she had a femoral head fracture in the growth plate of her right leg. We conferred with the neurologist and the orthopedic surgeon, and they both agree she would do best without the leg. Keeping a leg she can’t feel could be dangerous and lead to further injuries. Plus, since she has some control over her left leg, reduced weight may help her gain more muscle mass. We’re hopeful this amputation will get her even more mobile! She goes in for surgery October 7th and will be spayed at the same time. Once she has healed from surgery, she will be considered adoptable as a special needs kitty. Her neurological healing is done, and after this last step we can’t wait to see her grow! As always, thank you for your support.
