Il Toad in the hole é un tradizionale piatto inglese, ma é davvero un’impresa trovare un ristorante londinese che lo tenga fisso in menu. Nell’Ottocento diventa così famoso da scavalcare i confini dell’isola e arrivare anche in Italia, dove viene ripreso anche da Pellegrino Artusi nella ricetta “Lesso rifatto all’inglese”.
