This felt like we were back on island time 😭 The food was that good that we are still thinking about it… might even drop in next weekend 🤭 TNT Aloha Cafe is one of South Bay’s staples you really don’t want to miss. They’ve been here for quite some time and we can absolutely see why it’s a locals favorite. You know it’s a beloved spot when the workers know customers by name ♥️ We tried a little bit of everything, spam musubis, poke nachos, their new spicy katsu bowl, fried rice, and of course loco moco and honestly, every single dish hit. Comforting, flavorful, and generous portions across the board. We even got to meet the owner, Steve, who was so kind and welcoming. You can really feel the heart behind this place. 📍JANA - 21333 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503 Don’t come for me, but I honestly think some of the best restaurants are hidden inside hotels. Recently I was in Torrance and stumbled upon @janamediterranean , a Mediterranean spot inspired by the Amalfi Coast and wow, this place was such a vibe. My must-order of the night was the whole branzino perfectly butterflied, topped with tomatoes, and finished with a squeeze of lemon. So simple but freaking delicious. The crispy chicken skewers were another favorite; the light batter actually reminded me of Japanese tempura, and they’re served with a creamy cucumber labneh that’s both tender and crisp. Between the live music, the amazing service, and the food, it’s honestly surprising more people haven’t posted about this place. The executive chef even came out to check on us, which was such a nice touch. Despite the name sounding like Carl’s Junior (at least to me 😅), this shop doesn’t serve burgers but instead tempura, soba, and udon 🍜.
