⚾️ FYI: FASTBALLS = MOST ARM STRESS (Not breaking balls 👀) 💨 Higher velocity = higher joint torque 📊 The data is clear: fastballs create the highest elbow & shoulder stress —not because of the pitch type, but because of speed + intent ❌ Stop blaming curveballs ✅ Start managing velocity, volume, and fatigue For youth pitchers (10–15 yrs): • Fastballs are thrown the hardest • Fastballs are thrown the most • Fatigue + max intent = 🚨 injury risk 🧠 Smart arm care isn’t about banning pitches It’s about workload management, recovery, and development 👊 Train smart. Throw smart. Stay healthy. #YouthBaseball #PitchSmart #ArmCare #SportsPT #BaseballDevelopment ThrowingHealth InjuryPrevention FastballFacts ⚾️💪

• PART 5 ⚾💥— These are the movement patterns I keep coming back to when I’m working on my pitching. I’m not just “training muscles” — I’m training how my body transfers energy from the ground, through the core, and into the throw. -The single-leg work keeps me honest with balance and control. -The rotational throws remind me where my power actually comes from. -The push + hinge patterns help me stay strong through every phase of the pitch. Nothing fancy. Just reps that make my mechanics feel cleaner, stronger, and more repeatable over time. What I use for these sessions: -Resistance band -Kettlebell -Medicine ball -Landmine setup (barbell + landmine attachment) -A bit of space + patience 😅 Still learning my body. Still refining my patterns. Still showing up for the work. 🧠💪 If you train for pitching too — 👉 Let me know which movement do you feel the most in your throws? Save this for your next session, and share it with someone who’s serious about leveling up their game ⚾🔥 (baseball pitching, pitching workouts, energy transfer, throwing, mechanics, athlete training, sports performance, baseball drills, functional training, #PitchingTraining , #EnergyTransfer , #AthleteMindset , #IndianBaseball , #TrainPatterns , ballplayrrr)

Most pitchers aren’t losing velocity because of their arm… They’re leaking force before it ever reaches the ball. Watch the difference in this video 👇 Same athlete. Same intent. Two completely different drive-leg loads. ❌ First example — minimal flexion, early spin, energy dies before foot strike. ✅ Second example — controlled load, femur working into position, force transferring up the chain. This isn’t about trying harder. It’s about understanding what your body is actually doing in real time. The biggest mistake players make right now is guessing at mechanics instead of measuring them. That’s why we built the new TopVelocity app. Inside the app you can: • Upload your video and see mechanical checkpoints • Compare movement patterns to velocity benchmarks • Get guided drills that match your exact breakdown If you’re serious about throwing harder and staying healthy, stop training blind. (How to Build a Power Hitter — full breakdown below 👇) Most people start with swing mechanics. But here’s the truth: how your athlete moves often determines their mechanics. That’s why fixing the swing in isolation usually doesn’t stick. The smarter approach? Build the whole system: ⚡ Constraint drills → to clean up mechanics ⚡ Movement prep → so the body can actually move the right way ⚡ Plyometrics & isometrics → fire up the nervous system ⚡ Bat speed training → develop barrel speed under control ⚡ Med ball throws → train elasticity & the stretch–shortening cycle ⚡ Strength lifts → lock in power so it shows up in games When you put this together in the right order, hitters don’t just look good in a cage… they start driving the ball harder in games — to all fields. 👉 It all starts with analyzing how your athlete moves. If you’d like a copy of our Movement Assessment, drop the word MOVEMENT below. I’ll send you the exact assessment we use with our hitters — so you can see what’s really holding them back and what kind of program will unlock their full potential.

Your Glove Hand and Your Kinetic Chain For over 20 years, I’ve emphasized that the glove coming across the body before the stride prevents the catastrophic timing fault I see in typical, lesser motions. Right now, your motion lands the front foot first, then you throw the ball. Your glove hand does nothing except end up under your armpit. By getting your glove hand to come across your body before front leg lands, your hips increase the motion's ability to get the ball to the target more often. In essence, an efficient motion is ensuring your arm is "on time" to receive the energy wave generated by your glove hand at the moment of front foot contact. How I’d get good FAST as a baseball player: First get in the gym and commit. 6 days a week: upper / lower / arms, repeat. 1 full rest day. Do this for 6 straight months minimum. Build strength, durability, and discipline. Second the baseball work has to be intentional. Hit 5–6x/week with a plan. Not just swinging… purposeful reps. Work with a coach who gives you structure, routine, and adjustments. Then put in the REAL work on your own. Extra swings. Extra reps. Extra time. This part matters: You are NOT going to develop at practice alone. High school, travel, even college practice isn’t enough. The jump happens in the hours nobody sees. Third fuel your body like an athlete. Eat enough protein to recover and build strength. Hydrate consistently. Add electrolytes. Recovery = performance. If your body breaks down, so does your progress. Fourth train your mind daily. Read 1 chapter a day: •Heads Up Baseball 2.0 •The Alchemist •The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success •The Four Agreements •It’s All in Your Head You need mental toughness to handle failure, pressure, and long stretches with no visible results. That’s part of it. Now tie it all together: Training + reps + nutrition + mindset. Do ALL of it consistently. Then do it for 3–5 years. No shortcuts. No skipping steps. Keep your head down. Stay obsessed with getting better—not being seen. The results will come if the work is real. If you want a clear plan + mentorship on exactly how to do this, reach out.

Most throwing problem come from timing + position. If your throws feel wild or your arm gets cooked fast — start here. These 3 cues clean up 90% of the issues I see because they fix where your body is when you’re trying to put something on the throw. ✅ Cue 1: Front shoulder stays closed Don’t “fly open.” Stay stacked and let the hips start the move. ✅ Cue 2: Finish OVER the front leg Land, brace, and rotate around a firm front side instead of falling off. ✅ Cue 3: Smooth tempo (fast… not rushed) Build speed through the sequence — aggressive but controlled. Next session, focus on ONE cue for 10 throws — then switch. Train smart. Move better. Play harder. Save this & tag a teammate who needs! This is how elite throwers protect their arm. Throwing fence-to-fence isn’t just about arm speed. It’s about what happens after ball release — and what your body can control under load. Here are the key pieces we prioritise: 1️⃣ Build the decelerators (eccentric strength) – Eccentric barbell work – Drop catch variations – Drop catch with a plyo ball If you can’t absorb force, your shoulder pays for it. 2️⃣ Strengthen the rotator cuff properly – Overhead band ER press variations Control at 90/90 matters more than light bands in easy positions. 3️⃣ Train the lower body – Single leg RDL or split-lunge patterns Power starts from the ground. Weak legs = overloaded arm. 4️⃣ Own rotation – Controlled trunk rotation work – Upper back strength Transfer force efficiently instead of muscling the throw. 5️⃣ Clean up technique – Trunk position – Forward chest through release – Complete follow-through Good mechanics reduce stress before strength even comes into play. Throw hard. But train to last. #BaseballPerformance #ThrowingProgram #RotatorCuff #ArmCare #Deceleration BaseballTraining ShoulderHealth PitchingDevelopment

New blog post - The Truth About Long Toss Throwing more—whether by increasing distance, volume, or frequency—does not make the arm stronger. It makes the arm more fatigued. Throwing is not a strength exercise in the traditional sense. The loads involved are extremely high, the velocities are extreme, and the recovery demands are significant. From a tissue standpoint, throwing is a stress exposure, not a strength stimulus. I go into depth on how I look at long toss in my latest blog post. Check it out at avbaseballperformance.com

If you want to look and perform like an MLB player, you have to train like one. That means prioritizing back strength, forearm development, grip training, and all the small stabilizing muscles that actually drive elite baseball performance. A lot of players get confused because these aren’t the “flashy” lifts, but they’re the ones that matter. Use code “CHIPS” for free shipping from Bruce Bolt⚡️ Nobody’s asking Mike Trout how much he benches because bench press numbers don’t translate to bat speed, velo, or power. Baseball is a rotational, full-body sport, and your back is what controls deceleration, swing path, throwing efficiency, and injury prevention. Use code “CHIPS” for free shipping from Chandler Bats🔥 Your band routine, shoulder stabilizer work, and consistent activation of those small muscles will change your game more than another heavy bench day ever will. Check out the new CHIPS Bands👀 When it comes to rowing variations, explosive rows, slow-tempo negatives, grip-focused rows, these build the upper-back strength and scap stability that every hitter and pitcher needs. Your back can handle a ton of volume, yet most players undertrain it because it’s uncomfortable. But uncomfortable is where the gains are. Use code “CHIPS” for 25% off Triple Crown Jewelry👑 Forearms, back, hips, and hands run the game of baseball. Build your back, strengthen your grip, and watch your ball flight, bat speed, and throwing velocity take off. #baseball #baseballlife #baseballseason #baseballtraining #baseballswag

Why the lead leg block matters — especially for young pitchers 👇 The lead leg block helps pitchers stop forward momentum and transfer energy up the chain. When kids learn to use the front leg correctly, they gain better balance, control, and a more efficient delivery instead of leaking energy forward. But mechanics don’t improve just by correcting reps. That’s why we take the time to explain it, show it, and use different visual examples until it makes sense to them. When athletes understand the movement, their brain starts figuring out how to solve it — instead of just reacting to verbal corrections.
