Open House 2025 🪩✨ #helgstranddressage #equestrianlifestyle #horses #helgstrandstallions

this year my non negotiable ground work changed from 5 exercises to 6. So it’s probably time for an updated video of what I consider most important for EVERY horse to know! #HorseTraining #ColtStarting #Horsemanship #Cowboy #TrainingHorses

Is riding your horse on the bit a challenge? Here are 3 tips to help! 1️⃣ Keep your hands low and wide 2️⃣ Focus on transitions, such as walk-trot and canter-trot 3️⃣ Incorporate lots of circles and serpentines into your rides Want to learn more from our trainer, Grand Prix rider Uta Graf? Stop SHORTENING your horse’s frame – you are destroying its biomechanics ❌ For decades riders were told: “shorten the horse, shorten the neck, collect by closing the frame.” ❌ In truth, this is one of the most damaging misconceptions in equestrian sport. In traditional riding, “changing the frame” has been reduced to compression: closing the neck, tightening the outline, reducing the length of the horse’s body. From the perspective of modern biomechanics, this approach is not just outdated – it is fundamentally wrong. It destabilises the long ligament system that runs from the spine into the neck. It disengages the body’s natural energy transmission. It blocks forward movement. And instead of collection, it produces collapse. Here is the truth ⬇️ The frame must stay long – long spine, long neck, long ligament system. Collection is never achieved by shortening. It is achieved by: ✔️changing the angle of the head and neck in relation to the withers, ✔️increasing the flexibility and rotation of the pelvis through relaxation, ✔️and teaching the horse to push actively out to the bit through the entire back, not just the nose or poll. This is the process I teach in Anna’s Riding Method Module 7: Changes of the Frame. You will recognise correct biomechanics with one clear test: A horse in true connection can lengthen the stride both in an elevated frame and in a lowered frame. ❌ A compressed frame collapses. ✅ A correctly developed frame creates elasticity, power, and true collection. This must become the future standard of equestrian biomechanics. I almost never “ground drive” as shown here except in situations like this where the horse has issues with the ropes and changing eyes. • #Cowgirl #Cowboy #HorseTraining #TrainingHorses #ColtStarting #StartingColts #Horsemanship #Ranching #HorseTrainer

Last week I cherished watching Sunnery (4) in our own little fairytale, surrounded by our magical spotted family.🖤🤍🥰 All our animals joined us so sweetly in this pas-de-deux. We hope this sprinkles a little light on your beautiful Monday evening. ✨ #motheranddaughter #hearthorses #dalmatian #appaloosa #noriker #tigernoriker #ariatboots #horseanddog

The reality about training young horses. Love every aspect of it! It’s just important that the rider have 100% self control and patient, so you can avoid to get frustrated or angry with the horse! If the horse is not doing what you want him to do, it’s because you didn’t explain it well to him, or that he was not prepared for the job. It’s really as simple as that. #cadaliops #horsesofinstagram #equestrian #showjumping

In equestrian sports, progress takes time, patience, and resilience. Every rider faces setbacks refusals, falls, tough days but the key is to never give up. Horses feel your consistency, and trust grows through persistence. Success isn’t built overnight; it’s earned stride by stride. Keep showing up, and the results will follow.
