I thought for a long time about whether I should post this video or not. In the end, it’s a good example of how one small wrong decision in a tree can end everything. 🚫🌳 In the same tree, I had already removed six similar crown sections in exactly the same way – without any issues at all. 🪵 After watching this clip over and over again, one thing became clear: I was incredibly lucky. Luckily, I was working with a friction hitch that starts to slip once a certain amount of force is applied. ➡️ the system extended ➡️ much less load on my body On top of that, the tip of the limb was able to rest on the ground, which helped dissipate a large amount of the weight. And by the way – the Stileo by @couranttreecare (steel-core lanyard) is extremely strong 👌😂 Conclusion: Always work redundant. Without my main system, I would have been completely unsecured after cutting the short lanyard. 🚫 Take care up there. 🌳🪢 —————————————————————————————— Ich habe lange überlegt, ob ich dieses Video hochladen soll. Am Ende ist es aber ein gutes Beispiel dafür, wie eine kleine Fehlentscheidung im Baum alles beenden kann. 🚫🌳 Im selben Baum habe ich zuvor sechs vergleichbare Kronenteile auf genau die gleiche Art entfernt – komplett ohne Probleme. 🪵 Dieses Video habe ich mir danach immer wieder angeschaut und gemerkt: Ich hatte einfach verdammt viel Glück. Zum Glück habe ich mit einem Klemmknoten gearbeitet, der ab einer gewissen Kraft auf dem Seil rutscht. ➡️ Die Sicherung hat sich verlängert ➡️ deutlich weniger Last auf meinem Körper Zusätzlich konnte die Astspitze auf dem Boden aufliegen und so einen Großteil des Gewichts ableiten. Und ansonsten ist die Stileo von @couranttreecare (Stahlkern-Halteseil) extrem stabil 👌😂 Fazit: Immer redundant arbeiten.
