Been almost a year since this cutey and I’m soon diving into another tree/log/fantasy themed wedding (this time LOTR 🧙‍♂️), so I felt it appropriate to bring back this process video to get me in the mood. Satisfying for anybody who wants to see a cake that takes two days to make get assembled in 90 seconds!

Forest theme cake! This is the cake which was part of the same order - Cakepops and chocolate cups (last 2 reels) All I have done here is cover both the tiers in chocolate buttercream, chill the tiers completely and then given it the tree trunk effect with the help of a folk. You can use a toothpick or a pastry brush as well, but fork is most easily accessible. The decorations on here aren’t fondant they are store bought toppers. Diese Baumstamm-Torte ist eine Abwandlung der klassischen Bûche de Noel. 🎄🍫 Während der französische Weihnachtsbaumstamm mit Schokobuttercreme gefüllt wird, verwendete ich eine Schoko-Frischkäsecreme. Diese ist einfach zuzubereiten und extrem lecker! Sie schmeckt nicht ganz so fettig wie Buttercreme, ist schön schokoladig und lässt sich super verarbeiten. Die wird definitiv noch häufiger zum Einsatz kommen! ☺️ Der Kuchen an sich besteht aus saftigem und lockerem Rührteig. Hinzu kommt noch eine Schicht säuerliche Konfitüre und die Baumrinde aus Schokolade. Somit ist die Torte sowohl optisch als auch geschmacklich eine wahre Freude. 😋😍 This tree trunk cake is a twist on the classic Bûche de Noel. 🎄🍫 While the French Christmas tree trunk is filled with chocolate buttercream, I used a chocolate cream cheese cream. This is easy to prepare and extremely delicious! It doesn't taste quite as greasy as buttercream, is nice and chocolaty and is easy to work with. This will definitely be used more often! ☺️ The cake itself consists of juicy and loose batter. There is also a layer of sour jam and the tree bark made of chocolate. 🪵 Tree trunk cake - part 2! 🪵 I saw this idea from the very talented @sheri_wilson_ from her caketopia book - the enchanted forest cake. It’s a brilliant idea! Here, I used @ghirardelli melts and smoothed it on a piece of parchment paper. Next, I laid another piece of parchment on top and rolled it while it was still melted. Set that aside and let it dry until hardened.
