By working your lead wrist into ulnar deviation in the through-side of your swing, you can minimize your tendency to bend or chicken wing your lead arm. - - - - - #golfer #golfswing #golfball #golf #chickenwing #miamigolf

Learning to use
268,107

This is the first thing I’d teach myself. Learning to use your wrists properly is the most basic building block of the swing after learning how to grip the club. This is not the only way to hinge the wrists by any means. You can take it back flat or steep and still re-route it back into the correct position on the downswing, but that puts more importance on tempo to match up the re-route every time. I would rather learn it this way because then it’s not necessary to have any excess movement if this is how you set your wrists in the backswing. Just drop the arms and straighten the trail elbow and you will be as shallow as you need to be. If you want to shallow even more, just hinge the wrists a little less (more ulnar deviation), and rotate the forearms behind you slightly to start the downswing. . . . . . #golf #golfer #golfdrills

A connection ball can be used for multiple purposes. We’ve utilized three of them here. Simply using one without a plan isn’t productive. However, using it with the right hitters can build proper movement patterns, “feels,” or constraints. Drill 1 Place the ball on the rear pec and use the lead wrist to stabilize it. This strengthens the connection between the lead arm and torso. Top hitters show a fast increase in rotational velocity from torso to lead arm. Our data indicates that keeping these two points together longer can improve release timing. It also creates stronger rotation and lets you decide later—“yes–yes–no” is more natural, and the torso catapults the arm faster when it’s “yes–yes–yes.” Drill 2 This has a similar purpose but helps those who disconnect by underusing the arm/lat. It discourages the “seatbelt” move and early supination or ulnar deviation (bat dumping/tipping). Many teams use VBA data to determine optimal patterns. Dan Hennigan has found ways to create consistent ellipses for better barrel control without losing bat speed. For inconsistent barrel positions at foot strike and connection issues, this is a two-in-one fix. One of the top college hitters uses it routinely. Drill 3 Some hitters pin the lead arm too tightly, making it hard to set the “blade” (Brain&Barrel) for ride/hoppy heaters. We don’t encourage chasing a pitcher’s best pitch, but sometimes you have to get above a good 4S fastball—and lead arm biomechanics matter. The “ball drop” drill lifts the lead arm more perpendicular to the spine, improving contact higher in the zone. Our data (with TruMedia) shows that lead arm alignment at foot strike correlates with highest contact points. Takeaways     •    Use connection balls with intention.     •    Improve torso-to-arm sequencing for stronger rotation and timing.     •    Position arms/wrists early to avoid dumping/tipping.     •    Adjust lead arm blade height for better coverage up in the zone. Let us know if you’ve tried these drills and how they’ve helped your swing! Tag your hitting partner or coach below!

The Big O designs the trail arm release! Fantastic observation by @db.golfcoach 👀 Keep your eyes on the trail arm, this is where the magic happens. 💡 Case study of a @pgatour player: 👉🏻 At about waist height, the trail wrist is already at maximum extension, and then, almost instantly, three movements link together to trigger the release. Let’s call this sequence: 📌The Big O. Why? Imagine your trail arm drawing a deep “O” at this point in time. As it traces the shape: ✔️ The forearm begins to supinate ✔️ The wrist shifts into flexion ✔️ The wrist shifts into ulnar deviation ✔️ Right before impact, the forearm rotates back into pronation 💡 The secret? Keep your thumb carving that O upward toward the sky, without letting it collapse right or left. That’s what keeps the face rock solid. ♻️ Three moves. One chain reaction. ♻️ #golfsequence #golfcoaching #golfseason #wintergolf #golfmagazine #golfdrivingrange #golflifestyle #golflife #golfbiomechanics #golfaddicts #golfswings #golfamateur #pgatour #golfusa #golftip #downswing #golfkids

Wrist Health 🧬

Do you incorporate direct wrist/forearms work?👇🏽

⦿ People: I have wrist pain. Can you recommend some stretches?
⦾ Me: let’s better get stronger.

Don’t get me wrong, wrist stretches can be wonderful to warm up, prevent injuries
(to some degree) and increase range of motion. However, building strong and robust wrists is what we really want for a true long term solution.

🙅🏽‍♂️ If you are in pain, these might not be the best exercises for you. You are better off resting, and allowing the area to heal first. Add some light movements and when the pain subsides, is time to strengthen the area.

The following 4 exercises can be done with a light band. We will move through the major functions of the wrist: extension, flexion, ulnar deviation, radial deviation; which are all controlled by your forearm muscles.

Exercises are self explanatory so I won’t waste space in detailing their execution. Just make sure the resistance is in line with the wrists, and that you choose a manageable weight.

➤ Reps: ~10-20r
➤ Sets: 2-5x
➤ X/Week: 2-4

Final thoughts: this is not something that MUST be done forever. Rather, make a commitment to focus on your wrist/grip strength for 4-8 weeks. Then you can maintain and repeat when you feel the need.

Any additional questions bellow!
Thanks for being here.

With Love,

Wrist Rehab Wrist pain can be caused by a variety of things, from sudden sprains and fractures to long-term problems such as arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome. In an athletic environment, the most common causes are repetitive stress leading to irritation and inflammation, falls/impacts, wrist sprains, or pinched nerves. As a general precaution, in addition to rest and other treatments such as alternating ice and heat, strengthening the muscles in this area will help you recover and prevent this type of injury. Exercises: - Wrist ulnar deviation - Wrist radial deviation - Straight arm pronation/supination - Fat grip carry As a general guide u can do 3 sets of 15reps of each exercise, and 30m each hand in the last one, resting 1´ between sets. @crossliftalgarve #rehab #wrist #wristpain #wristrehab #help #training #workout #strenght #strenghttraining #health #healthylifestyle

1,331

Abduction and adduction of the wrist are movements that move the hand away from or toward the midline of the body: Abduction: Moving the hand toward the thumb, also known as radial deviation Adduction: Moving the hand toward the little finger, also known as ulnar deviation  These movements occur in the frontal plane. They are most evident when standing in the anatomical position with palms facing forward and thumbs out to the side.  The radiocarpal joint of the wrist has limited abduction and adduction movements: Abduction The lunate and triquetral move medially. The lunate ends in the same plane with the inferior radioulnar joint, while the triquetral moves farther away from the radius. Adduction The scaphoid bone rotates, enabling the lunate to move laterally and situate distal to the inferior surface of the radius. The triquetral also moves laterally.  . . .
