If you’ve been dealing with headaches, neck pain, dizziness, or jaw discomfort, tight upper trapezius muscles might be adding to your symptoms. These muscles are directly connected to your neck, shoulders, and skull, so tension here can spread pain to other areas. 🎥 In this video, I’m showing you 3 ways to stretch and release your upper traps to help ease discomfort. While these stretches can provide relief when this muscle is the actual source of pain, they don’t address why it’s tight in the first place. Often, posture, compensations, or stress patterns are the root cause. 💡 Use these stretches to feel better in the moment, but don’t forget: to fix the bigger picture, it’s all about uncovering and addressing the underlying reasons for the tension! #trapezius #neckpain #neckpainrelief #neckpaintreatment #tmjdisorder #tmj #tmd #shoulderpain #shoulderpainrelief #headaches #headacherelief #dizziness #vestibularmigraine

Traps are one of those muscles that typically only feel better for a little while after we stretch them. This can be a longer-term solution that gets to the root of the problem 💪🏼 ——— #neckpain #neckpainrelief #neckpaintreatment #neckpainexercises #traps #neckstretch #backpain #upperbackpain #chronicpain #stretching #stretchingtips

🚨The Root Cause of Your Upper Trap Tightness…(Get my step-by-step program on Sale today in @theptinitiative profile link) — ➡️Many people deal with chronic upper trap tightness, and have tried stretching endlessly… getting no improvement. —- ✅Many times it comes from an imbalance of the scapular force couple. This is an interplay of the Lower Traps, Upper Traps, and Serratus Anterior. —- 🎯This group of 3 muscles need to work together to create optimal movement around the shoulder. If there is an issue with this force couple (ex: lower trap weakness), then the upper trap can compensate and lead to a feeling of chronic tightness. -— In this video I’m walking you through 3 great starter exercises to begin addressing the root cause of your tight upper traps. — ✅📋Need a proven program to follow to fix your shoulders? Are your upper traps or your neck area always tight, and no matter how much you stretch them, they never release? Let me tell you something. Stretching is not going to get to the source of the problem. Let me explain the source so you can get rid of that problem altogether. Most people are upper trap dominant. That means they shrug a lot throughout the day. Because of that, the middle trapezius and lower trapezius are weak. Their job is to pull the shoulder blades back and down. As soon as you strengthen them, the upper traps start to relax. Here is what I want you to do. Take a simple resistance band. Start with the band above your head. Pull it open with straight arms until it reaches your collarbone. Hold it for 2 seconds, then return to the start. Perform 12 to 15 reps, or until you feel tension and mild fatigue in the middle of your back, just below your shoulder blades. This targets the lower trapezius. Next, using the same band, turn your palms up. Push your arms forward until you feel a slight stretch in the middle of your back. Then retract your shoulder blades and pull the band open to the middle of your chest. Hold for 2 to 3 seconds. Repeat this for 12 to 15 reps, until you feel fatigue or tension directly between your shoulder blades. This targets the middle trapezius. Do these exercises a couple of times per day or several times per week. Perform 2 sets of 12 to 15 reps for each movement. This will help put your shoulders in a better retracted and depressed position, take stress off the upper traps, reduce discomfort, improve function, and help you get better, not older. #Neckpain #neckpainrelief

If your neck always feels tight, these muscles might be the reason. This stretch targets the upper traps and levator scapulae while the arm movement helps create an even deeper release through the neck and shoulder. #neckpain #neckpainrelief #neckstretch #uppertrapstretch #levatorscapulae #mobility #stretching #posture #painrelief #anatomy #synermuscle

🚨 That Nagging Upper Trap Tightness? Here’s the Fix! 🚨 😩 Ever get that stubborn knot in your upper trap, and stretching just doesn’t fix it? There’s a reason why—and a smarter way to relieve it. 🧐 The upper trap lifts the shoulder blade, but tight chest muscles can pull your ribcage down, forcing your traps into a constant elevated position. Stretching alone won’t cut it—you need to correct your ribcage position first! ✅ Try this sequence: 🔹 Chest opener: Lie on your back over an exercise ball, flare the elbows slightly, press hands into your head, and breathe deeply—3 sets of 60s. 🔹 Trap relaxation: Lie on your stomach with your elbow crease at nose height, push the ground away, look up slightly, and breathe—3 sets of 60s. 🔹 Strengthen smart: Powell raises—reach long, lift above 90º, and keep traps relaxed—3 sets of 10. 💥 Stop chasing temporary relief. Fix the root cause and move pain-free! 👇 Try it out and drop a 💯 if this helped! #physicaltherapists #strengthtraining #coach #movement #mobility #painfree #uppertrap #posture #injuryprevention
