Monday, March 2, we're kicking off our ever-popular #AstronomyLectureSeries with ULTRAVIOLET SUSPECTS: Using Galaxies to Shed Light on the Early Universe. This week, go BACK IN TIME with @CarnegieAstro's own Tony Pahl, who uses ultraviolet light from distant galaxies—captured by JWST, Keck, and our own Magellan telescopes—to uncover the universe's dramatic beginnings. Can't attend in person? We've got you covered! We'll be live streaming this and all this season's astronomy lectures. One of the most viewed telescopes in United States are in Griffith Observatory. It’s a 90 year-old telescope and perfect working condition. And you can take a look at the moon from 7 PM to 9 PM (summer hours are different )in winter time completely for free! Quick advise though be first or stay up late, the line was crazy. Before they open the door and let you actually walk into the telescope area. It’s a very small tight space that maybe shit eight people (of course I was there 😂😂😂💁🏼♀️) # #everybody else was standing outside. Some people are considerate, and some are not And take very long time at the telescope 🤦🏼♀️ #telescope #moon

In Lions and Bear and Lynx, Oh My! – Night Skies with Paul Hughen (March 2026) from the New Mexico Museum of Space History, you’ll learn how to spot the Spring Triangle using Arcturus, Spica, Regulus, and Denebola, then star-hop your way to Leo, Leo Minor, Lynx, and nearby Ursa Major. This easygoing guide is perfect for beginners who just want a simple March star map and a little confidence to look up and say, “I know that constellation!” #NightSkies #SpringTriangle #LeoConstellation #UrsaMajor #Stargazing #Astronomy #MarchSky #NMSpaceMuseum #NewMexicoNights #SpaceHistoryMuseum #AlamogordoNM #NMCulture #NMTrue #NewMexico #NewMexicoCulture #VisitAlamogordo

#womeninscience The international Gemini Observatory consists of twin 8.1-meter diameter optical/infrared telescopes located on mountains in Hawai`i (Maunakea) and Chile (Cerro Pachón), enabling the telescopes to collectively access the entire sky. @geminiobs @maunakeaobs @ucsc #womeninscience

Telescopes forever changed the way we view the night sky. 🔭 From observatories here on earth to the Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes orbiting high above the earth — we’re able to see farther and deeper into space than ever before. 🪐 So, WHEN was the first telescope invented? 🤔 That exactly what we asked Dr. Wes Ryle in today’s edition of “Ask the Astronomer” on Cincy Lifestyle! 📺

The astronomical observatory equipped with world’s largest camera hit a key milestone on February 24, when a complex data-processing system pushed hundreds of thousands of alerts out to scientists eager to pore over its most exciting sightings.

Consider this your sign to visit the Intuitive Planetarium at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center — officially named the best planetarium in the U.S. by USA Today readers. Whether you’re exploring the wonders of the James Webb Space Telescope or attending Cocktails & Cosmos, it’s worth the trip to Huntsville.

🔭Jupiter through Large Telescope at The Griffith Observatory. Their Next Star party is at The end of March. 🚨Big News with Telescope Man! 🔭March 3rd Telescope Man will be a Livestream Guest on My Lunar Eclipse event 🔭March 21: Telescope Man & I on Mt Wilson with The 60” Telescope all night! *There are tickets or something for this if folks are interested so let me know below if you want to join us in person for a legendary night under the stars! I will have a video on it after the eclipse event. LETS GO! #jupiter #Astronomy #telescope #Science

#womeninscience What do professional astronomy and backyard stargazing have in common? In this session, featuring special guest Laura-May Abron of Griffith Observatory, participants will explore the night sky while learning how amateur observing closely mirrors professional astronomy. From planning targets and assessing sky conditions to collecting and interpreting light, the fundamentals of observing are the same, only the scale changes. @griffithobservatory @ucsc #womeninscience @celestialmachines

Using my @explorescientific ES127-FCD 100 telescope I take you on an adventure exploring the comos from our Moon out to the Milk Way seeing nebulas and then thousands(or sometime millions) of light-years awatly to distance galaxies. I'll be in town for 20 more days—then I get back on the road and continue the my journey throughout the American west, where the skies are clear, the stars are scattered by the thousands, and the magic of the universe shines above us every night. I also need to get back to my deserts, mountians, and forests. I miss them!! #telescope #cosmos #sidewalkastronomy #stpetefl #scicomm
