MOAB ITINERARY ⬇️ ✨If you were visiting Moab, Utah for a weekend getaway, this is exactly what I would tell you to do. New here? Nestled in the heart of Utah’s Red Rock Country, Moab is one of my favorite destinations in Utah, although living only an hour away, I’m pretty biased. Adventures are limitless, and if you were visiting Moab for the weekend, this is what I would recommend to you as a Southwest local. Day 1️⃣ • Arrive in Moab and check-in to your hotel • Stop for a quick photo-op at the Greetings from Moab mural (corner of W 200 N and Main St on the side of Bowel Motel) • Grab dinner from the Food Truck Park • Head to Dead Horse Point State Park for sunset Day 2️⃣ Arches National Park • Get to the park before 7am for Delicate Arch sunrise (3.3 mi RT) • Pack meals and snacks to maximize daylight • Hike Devils Garden Primitive Loop (8 arches in one hike, 8 miles RT or can do out and back to Double O for 4 miles RT) • Stop at Sand Dune Arch (0.3 mi RT) Optional hike to Broken Arch (1.8 mi RT) • Finish at the Windows Section: Double Arch, Turret Arch, and the Windows • Sunset at North Window — one of the best sunset spots in the park Day 3️⃣ Canyonlands National Park • Avoid Mesa Arch crowds with sunrise at Shafer Trail Overlook • Head to Mesa Arch afterward for golden light and few crowds • Scenic overlooks: Grand View, Orange Cliffs, Green River • Quick hike at Aztec Butte (2 mi RT) • Optional add-ons before leaving: Corona Arch (3 mi RT) and drive Potash Road or Fisher Towers (4 mi RT) and drive Highway 128 🌵 Have you been to Moab? Moab, Utah Ultimate Guide Moab is Utah’s gateway to some of the most otherworldly red rock formations. With many restaurants, hotels, airbnbs, and grocery stores available, making it one of the most visited and well-developed towns of Southern Utah. 🌤️Best time to visit: we recommend the spring and fall, visiting in the summer can get extremely hot, if you do go in the summer, we suggest you to start as early as possible to avoid dealing with the midday sun. ✈️Major airports near the park are Salt Lake City and Grand Junction Regional Airport. You could also fly into Las Vegas or Phoenix and take a roadtrip to get to Moab Here is a 3-day itinerary to Moab: DAY 1: 📍Arches National Park 🟢Landscape Arch (1.8 mile RT, easy. Best at sunrise) 🟢Delicate Arch (3.2 mile RT, moderate, Best at sunset) 🟢Sand Dune Arch (0.3 mile RT, easy) 🟢Panorama Point (Roadside Pulloff) 🟢The Windows, Turret Arch (0.5 miles RT easy loop, very popular) 🟢 Double Arch (0.5 miles RT, easy, very popular) 🟢Balanced Rock (0.2 miles RT, easy) 🟢Courthouse Towers, Tower of Babel (Roadside Pulloff) 🟢Park Ave Viewpoint (Roadside Pulloff but you could also hike the 1.8 mile trail here to see the towers up close) 🟢Sheep Rock & the Three Sisters (Roadside Pulloff) DAY 2: 📍Canyonlands National Park 🟢Mesa Arch (0.7 mile RT, easy) Best at Sunrise. Extremely popular! Downtown Moab in Utah has such a nice vibe with lots of good shöpping & restaurants !! You can even take a nice walk by the river. In fact Arches National Park is just a 9 minute drive from downtown Moab! Whether you are visiting Moab Utah for kids time or for time with your significant other, Moab Utah has something for everyone. 📍 Arches National Park - you don’t go to Moab and not visit Arches. We loved seeing Delicate Arch at sunrise and then loved going in at night to stargaze and practice astrophotography 📍 Dead Horse Point - Dead Horse Point is a state park in Moab, Utah. We went for sunrise and sunset. Between the two we recommend sunrise because it is less crowded and the colors cast on the rocks can get CRAZY! 📍 Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway U-128 - We HIGHLY recommend that you spend some time along here. It is a beautiful drive! There are many view points, and many spots for camping, hiking, and access points to the river for water activities. Trust us you don’t want to miss this one! ⛺️ Moab Utah camping - You can camp in many different areas around Moab including some spots inside Arches, Dead Horse point state park, and Canyonlands National Park. There are also tons of camping spots along Utah state route 128 as mentioned above! This is a scenic drive that runs right along the Colorado river and we highly recommend driving through there, even if you don’t camp! 🏨 Moab Hotels - Moab Utah also has plenty of options for hotels if you are not the camping type. One of the classics of the area is the Apache Motel in Moab Utah! It’s claim to fame is that John Wayne stayed in this hotel during the filming of many of his classic Western movies! 🥘 Moab Utah restaurants - Moab Utah also has many good restaurants! Our personal favorite was a breakfast spot called Cactus Jacks, and you can not go wrong with anything on their menu!
