How do we support our community during a crisis? Let’s get Smarter in Seconds! A community is any collection of people who support or care for one another and may share geography, identity, or experiences. You might not know or look like everyone in your community, but if you’re alive, you’re probably part of one! Helping after a crisis can take countless forms. Think about what you do best or what you enjoy doing and how you can apply that to supporting your community. Do you love to cook? Cook and deliver meals or join a meal distribution service. Do you love to read? Offer to host a storytime or join a book drive. Donations are also a vital part of community support - but remember a crisis is not the time to clear your closet or pantry of trash that’s been gathering dust. Think locally, too. Supporting disasters in another state or country is an IMPORTANT and beautiful thing to do, but remember to also think about what’s happening in your own neighborhood. Our team occasionally send us videos of specific tough cases and this one broke our hearts. A single mom with her mentally ill mother and three children, with no shelter or any basic needs provided. With a pack of diapers costing over $28 and a can of milk costing $11, families like this can’t afford to cover the basics for their baby. In addition, people with mental illness struggle a lot in the genocide with no care or support provided. Unfortunately, families like these are invisible to large organizations and supporters through social media. In the famine, the first people who pay the price are these invisible families with no access to any support or/and who suffer from chronic illnesses / mental illnesses, and/or those pregnant or with babies, etc. We will provide support to this family and other families in similar situations. Please donate to the South campaign to support such cases.

New or *gently used* clothing, brand new underwear and socks, and non-expired delicious and nutritious foods are always needed. Are physical structures enabling more powerful social connections than the online world? If not? Stop focusing on secondary issues and fix the root of the problem. Children are dying. Crime is rising, housing is becoming unaffordable, and the masses are spending hours of time online. Join the movement that’s going to reshape American neighborhoods. Bring social connections from the online world to real life. My book is A Love Letter to suburbia: How to restore the village. The link to both vendors are in my bio! Everybody deserves kindness. 🌍💛 During our community outreach in a remote village, we met a single mother of six — a woman of incredible strength, courage and a heart full of humility. She works tirelessly, standing strong like both mother and father, to give her children the little they have. Her kindness inspired us deeply. We reached out and decided to transform their home. We brought new mattresses and beddings so they can finally sleep comfortably, food supplies to last them over 2 months, and most importantly, we brought light, hope, and dignity back into their home. Nothing can compare to the joy we witnessed — the tears in her eyes, the disbelief, the overwhelming smiles on the children’s faces. They never expected what we did for them, and it was our greatest honor to show them that love still exists. In a world where many stay silent about the suffering around them, choose kindness. It always returns in ways you never expect. ✨ We cannot continue doing this great work alone. We need YOU. Please tap the GoFundMe link in our bio and donate today so that we can reach more families in need. Every little contribution counts — and its impact can change lives. Together, we can rebuild hope. ❤️🙏

Being a good neighbor is an intentional choice that takes effort. It’s a commitment to someone you share a similar location with. I think overall, we have forgotten about the magic of a village. But when we all look after each other and share our resources, we can access the magic that is connection and community. (And cold smoothies!) ✨#sanfrancisco #community #communitybuilding #neighbor

A breakdown of social services for low income people with disabilities who rely on care. . I swear these reels get choppy when I say things Meta doesn’t want to “hear”. . I did not want to whitesplain racism to a mixed space, more below . . ** TW for BIPOC/POGM white person discussing racism . . when I say it is not my place to break down racism here as a white person it is because we are in mixed space. I became racially aware and anti-racist in the year 2000 in Los Angeles, CA. With much humility I say that for about 15 years after that awakening, I spoke about racism no matter who was in the room, and in the last decade, especially with deeper spiritual awakening, I recognize the violence of this thanks to Spirit, Indigenous leadership, and Black voices. I have been given feedback that many of my BIPOC students, clients, and followers do not want me to whitesplain racism in mixed space, this is the only reason I don’t go further. It can be self-centered, it can be white-centric, yes I am meant to speak to white folks re racism and also my audience is mixed. I don’t feel I did the best job in this post, actually, hence my next one, and also this is an important thing for fellow white folks to understand. For white disabled folks: ableism in this country is inextricably tied to colonization and systemic racism, especially anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism. Disability justice is intersectional and a great place to start to learn these intersections. White privilege creates a different lived experience that POGM, Black, Indigenous folks do not experience, it is often much easier for white disabled folks to access services, resources, etc.
