From the first slice of the stem to the final sticker on the rind, it’s a labor-intensive process powered by 150 workers on scorching summer days. The farm picks nearly 2,000 semi loads of melons in just three months, most of it by hand. 🚛💪 and while you can listen for that nice medium-tone “thud”… they say the real trick is simple: 👉 Look for the Hager melon sticker. If it’s got one, it’s been picked within a day or two and passed their “quality assurance”—which, yes, involves a lot of taste testing. (Tough job, right?) These melons are headed to Boise, Salt Lake, Seattle and beyond… but they all start right here in Idaho. No better way to beat the summer heat than with something that will take you from sweat to 🥶: 3 INGREDIENT WATERMELON SORBET 🌞🍉🍧 You need: • 4 cups cubed frozen watermelon • 1 lime, juiced (optional) • 1-2 tsp raw honey • 1/2 cup of your favorite milk Cube your watermelon, then place it in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking tray & freeze for a few hours or overnight. Once frozen, add it to a high-powered food processor with lime juice, honey, and your favorite milk (like almond or coconut). Blend on high, scraping down the sides occasionally, until smooth.
