This is there pixcut S1 photo sticker printer and cutter and it’s garbage. The adhesive used on there sticker paper does not work causing any sticker made to fall out applied area. When I reached out to them they said they understood there was an issue and had ZERO solution. You have to look specifically for a STRIP cut shredder, or what’s known as a level P2 shredder. Cross or micro cut (p3 and up) will cut your cardboard too small and it will be too dense and heavy (10x the weight of packing peanuts- I checked!) I returned 3 different shredders before I found the one I liked, and it was actually BY FAR the most affordable one. At first I assumed I’d need the most expensive fancy shredder rated to be able to cut through cardboard, and spent $100-300 on the 3 previous shredders. While there are some specialty cardboard level shredders out there that do cost an arm and a leg, this little one under $50 has been trucking along just fine for months now, as long as I rip stuff up and kinda shove it in there 😆 If you want the link to my favorite new sustainability packaging tool, DM ME A MESSAGE (IG won’t let me send you guys links first anymore!) just “shredder” is fine and I’ll send it to you! I used to spend a decent amount on shipping supplies including U-Haul’s biodegradable packing peanuts, which while they are slightly eco friendly, also cost me money and are still a new product I’d have to buy. I still use them for packaging some plants that absolutely need them, but largely I’ve been able to substitute 90% of my larger packaged cactus with these cardboard strips. I love them! They allow the spines on cactus to stay intact as well, whereas paper would compress them. What I use to make my stickers at home 💫 ✨Sticker paper: matte or glossy weatherproof paper from @onlinelabels . Make sure to get the weather proof paper or else you won’t be able to put them on water bottles ✨Laminating sheets: from @avery or Oracal (these make the stickers longer lasting 👌🏽) ✨Printer: I have the Canon Pixma Pro 100 (I also use the Canon branded inks only) ✨Cutting machine: @silhouette.inc Cameo 4 (you can always cut them by hand if you don’t have one of these machines, but I decided to invest in this to save my hands from the pain 🥲 lol) Everything is linked on my Amazon Storefront! The Sticky Science: How Adhesive Tapes Are Made Adhesive tapes, including Scotch Tape (a famous brand), are multi-layer products. Their production is a continuous, precise process of applying a pressure-sensitive adhesive to a flexible backing material. Core Components: · Backing (Carrier): The base material, usually polypropylene (BOPP) film for transparent office tape, but can also be paper, cloth, PVC, or polyester. · Adhesive: A pressure-sensitive, usually acrylic or rubber-based compound that sticks under light pressure. · Release Coating: A thin silicone layer applied to the back of the tape so the roll doesn’t stick to itself. Key Manufacturing Stages: 1. Coating: The backing material is unwound from a large roll. The liquid adhesive is evenly applied to one side using a precision coating head (e.g., a slot die or gravure roll). The tape then passes through a long, heated drying oven to evaporate solvents or cure the adhesive. 2. Silicone Lining: The reverse side of the backing is coated with a release agent (silicone). 3. Rewinding & Slitting: The wide, finished web of tape is rewound into a large «jumbo» roll. This master roll is then placed on a slitter, which precisely cuts it into many narrow rolls of the desired width (e.g., 12mm, 19mm, 24mm). 4. Core Winding & Packaging: The narrow tape strips are wound onto plastic or cardboard cores, labels are applied, and the rolls are packaged for sale. Acrylic vs. Rubber Adhesive: · Acrylic: More expensive, UV and temperature resistant, ages well, clear.
