Working Title Kitchen - Ottawa Date Spot Review 🍴 I’m always getting asked where you should go on a date in Ottawa where the food is great, but the pricing isn’t super steep, and @workingtitleottawa should be on the list! While the building is incredibly beautiful, I’m all about the food, so what were my thoughts? The new menu at Working Title Kitchen really impressed me, from the pasta and steak dishes, to my favourite dish, the Salmon Aburi. The menu is small but with decent options for meat, fish, and veggie eaters meaning that you can keep your date happy, even if you want to pig out and go full carnivore (am I talking about myself?? maybe) If you haven’t got down to Working Title Kitchen’s new menu yet, check them out! Today, when kitchens are fully open to the living space, they’re designed to be seen, experienced, and lived in. Which is exactly why we approach them differently. In many of our projects, we incorporate a secondary “working kitchen” tucked behind the main space. This allows the front kitchen to remain clean, minimal, and visually perfect, while the real cooking, prep, and mess happen out of sight. Because of this shift, the traditional “kitchen work triangle” no longer defines how we design. It was built for a different era, when kitchens were closed off and purely functional. Today, we design for flow, for lifestyle, for entertaining. Not just for cooking. The future of kitchen design isn’t about rigid rules. It’s about creating spaces that work beautifully, and live even better. Last one from a big week of testing! “Classics reimagined” a working title ahah But recipes that have a new flavour spin on the classic staples. Whether that’s a bit of harissa in a spag Bol or a Thai take on a chicken and leek pie. Just something to keep the weeknight dinners feel new and exciting.
