Voutilainen World Timer - The 216TMZ features a highly intricate dial made from gold and silver, combining hand-guilloché patterns at both centre and hour track. The hour markers, applied by hand in polished white gold, ensure excellent legibility. Presented here is a central guilloché motif which Kari Voutilainen drew inspiration from the Optical Art of Victor Vasarely. The dial surface is finished in a grey tone with hand-applied enamel. The hour track is enhanced by a subtle mint green galvanic treatment, complemented by a blend of deep green and yellow on the 24-hour day/night disc. After seeing the new Frederique Constant Worldtimer at Watches and Wonders, I felt like picking up my older version and filming a quick video with it. It’s been a while since I made a reel like this - sometimes it’s nice to switch things up from photography. On the new model they removed the date, which makes the world map and city ring fully visible, and they also reduced the case size to 40mm. Definitely a nice upgrade. That said, considering my wrist size, I don’t mind the 42mm of this version at all, and the date has never really bothered me. Should I make more videos like this?
