⬇️CAPTION⬇️ With the recent release of this new version in green and gold accents, the #omega #seamaster #aquaterra #worldtimer has been on every #watchcollector mouth, and for good reason. This is a sporty take on a classic complication which features a strikingly beautiful relief map of the world’s continents and its oceans. While the world map here may not be crafted from cloissonné enamel like other #hautehorlogerie world timers, it has a rich and vibrant texture: it consists of a grade-five titanium plate that has been laser-sculpted to create the crystal green ocean as well as the relief engravings of the world’s major land masses. The map is surrounded by a 24-hour scale divided into night and day, and outward from there are 24 cities symbolizing each time zone. The gold applied markers are filled with blue-glowing lume, as are the hour, minute and seconds hands. It’s also a well-engineered masterpiece that demonstrates how far Omega has come as a watchmaker over the last 15 years. The caliber 8938 is a Master Chronometer, which means that it has been chronometer certified by the the independent Swiss agency METAS and that it is hugely amagnetic, with the ability to resist magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. One polarizing aspect is the size of its case, at a rather large 43mm in diameter x 14.12mm thick. Still, the twisted, faceted lugs and a polished bezel make a refined impression on any wrist. At a price of 11.9k€ after the recent price increases it might not be the incredible value for money that it was before but it’s still a relatively affordable option for the #watchenthusiast who wants to add a typically high-end complication to his #watchcollection .
