How I imagine Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. #art #wutheringheights #heathcliff #books #catherineearnshaw

Just some of the things that were genuine adaptations for wuthering heights! (Wuthering heights, Classics) #bookstagram #fyp #wutheringheights

I’m still unwell.. I haven’t read the book but I saw that in the book, cathy haunts heathcliff until his death, and then the narrator hints that their ghosts can be seen on the moors together. So in the end they can finally free to be together.. so that gives me a little bit of peace 💔🥀 kind of love & yearning my heart longs for, unwavering no matter the time & distance. I bought personalised book recommendations for each of the “Wuthering Heights” cast members I interviewed for my podcast — Jacob Elordi, Margot Robbie, and Alison Oliver. Here’s what happened when I gave them their books 📚 I think they went down pretty well…? Listen to the full episode of the Inklings Book Club podcast now!!! Join the conversation at @___inklings___

This rebound copy is available on my Etsy! 🖤 I read Wuthering Heights and… 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I couldn’t wait to make a pretty new cover for one of my new favorite books of all time. And now it goes on my trophy shelf 🏆📚 I decided to pick up Wuthering Heights and finally give it a go (it’s been on my physical TBR for a couple of years) and devoured it in a single weekend. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this book since I finished reading it — a toxic, mesmerizing, raw, and quite deranged story of two obsessed souls that sucks you in the entire way through. I’m still haunted by the fact that this was Emily Brontë’s one and only published novel. Her writing is so dark and addicting it felt like being in a trance and I absolutely WILL reread one day. STUNNINGGG. 🖤 Now time to buckle up for the movie, which I know will be nothing like the book but I’m open minded regardless 😆 ____ Bookbinding, diy book cover, paperback to hardcover, rebinding books, bookish hobby, bookish crafts, Cathy and Heathcliff, classic novels, special edition book

Rereading Wuthering Heights before the movie comes out and I am once again personally victimized by old English. 🫠📖 Why does every sentence feel like a riddle wrapped in a sermon wrapped in a threat? I remember loving this book, but currently I understand absolutely nothing. Send help. Or footnotes. 😂🖤

I know I’ll be rereading Wuthering Heights before the movie comes out. I surely do not remember the book being so hot 🔥🔥🔥. Maybe if Emily Brontë were alive today she’d have written the book a bit more like the movie -spicy spicy. 🥵 She’d be all over booktok 🤩. I’m already on board for what the movie has in store. Will you be reading or seeing the movie? #wutheringheights

This movie was BRILLIANT and the amount of hate it’s getting is SO unwarranted. • First off… THIS MOVIE WAS AN INTERPRETATION OF THE BOOK! The title of the movie is in quotations for a reason. It is by NO MEANS supposed to be a direct adaptation from the book! IF you are looking for a DIRECT interpretation DONT WATCH THE MOVIE! Update: let me preface with saying I loved both the book and the movie for different reasons. I enjoyed them as SEPARATE works. • The movie is a wuthering heights fever dream with a 21st century update. It has a horror, gothic, slightly magical feel to it. It is no where near as provocative as the trailers lead you to believe. It is STILL an obsessive & destructive “romance” but what the movie does that the book doesn’t (in my opinion) is it humanizes Heathcliff and Cathy so much more. They’re both still terrible but you can’t help but feel a bit more sympathy for their mutual destruction. I hated them BOTH in the books which was absolutely the point. The movie you may not like them but you witness and understand the ‘why’ of it all • It isn’t focused on the kids or the decades of revenge this was strictly Catherine and Heathcliffs story and it was told so well! • As for Heathcliff not being white. I understand the frustration but in this movie it isn’t as significant as it is in the books. Look at Edgar he is SUPPOSED to be white but he isn’t Was it an over-site? Yes. That doesn’t take away the fact that the cast played their parts wonderfully. . In the books it’s important for his character. Most of Cathy’s reason for thinking she would be degraded to marry him was because he was BROKE AS HELL. (Literally. Man was adopted and had no inheritance) Update: I stand by Cathy choosing Edgar strictly for financial gain. In the book she talks about using his status to raise heathcliff socially. I am by NO MEANS saying race wasn’t significant in the book. • Go into the movie with an open mind. Take it in for what it is. Enjoy the art and the costumes and the ACTING!! (Which was top tier) It’s okay to enjoy the movie as a reader. Let’s stop the blatant hate. • With that said I hope everyone gives the movie a chance.
