Zone 2 training be like 😅🤣 #run #Running #fitness #funny #runningcommunity #runner #motivation #runningtips #marathon #longrun #runcoach #zone2 #funnyvideos #fyp #foryoupage

Struggling to stay in Zone 2? You’re not alone 👇🏼 📉 Why is Zone 2 so hard? 1.) Your aerobic system isn’t developed enough yet. 2.) For newer or lower-mileage runners, heart rate spikes fast, even at a slow jog. 3.) It’s not because you’re unfit it’s because your body isn’t efficient at using oxygen yet. 👟 Zone 2 is important for building endurance, burning fat, and improving recovery… But only if your body is ready for it. 🧠 Obsessing over staying in Zone 2 too early can do more harm than good. What to do instead 👇🏼 ✅ Let running be running. Walk when needed, jog when you can. It all counts. ✅ Train in higher heart rate zones if that’s where your body naturally sits. 🫀 your aerobic system will catch up. ✅ Use low-impact cross-training (bike, walk, elliptical) to build endurance without the stress of running. Zone 2 is a tool, not a rule. You’re not failing 📈 you just need the right path for where you are right now. ❤️ Follow for more simplified running advice. 💙 Share this with a friend who’s stressing over Zone 2. #zone2training #runningtips #hybridtraining #running #run #runner #fitness #runningmotivation #runnersofinstagram #runners #instarunners #trailrunning #training #marathon #runhappy #sport #workout

Zone 2 paces ↓ If you’re a beginner runner, building endurance is everything. It’s the foundation that allows you to run longer, recover faster, and feel less out of breath. Poor endurance is often why many beginners struggle to sustain 2-3 runs per week—as running ‘fast’ multiple times a week is extremely taxing. One of the biggest hurdles I see in beginner runners is the belief that their running pace should “look a certain way”—usually based on videos of more experienced runners. They think the pace they can sustain in zone 2 “doesn’t count as running”. However, if you want real progress, drop that mindset. The best thing you can do as a beginner is to put your ego aside and run at your manageable pace—even if it feels “incredibly slow” at first (as shown in the second clip). It might sting a bit, especially in today’s world of social media and constant comparison, but in reality, running slower now is the key to making faster progress later. Running too fast too soon is one of the main reasons beginners quit, burn out, or get injured. See it as an investment: run slow now, so you can run fast later—faster than you ever would if you stayed stubborn and pushed too hard too soon. Playing the long game rewards greatly. My old Zone 5 is now my new Zone 2 😮💨🧘♂️ 2 years ago, I ran a sub 20-minute 5K at 175 bpm — all-out. Now I run sub-20 at 149 bpm — smooth, aerobic, under control. Here’s exactly how I did it 👇 🏃 80/20 training changed everything 80% of my runs became easy, Zone 2 runs — slow enough to hold a conversation. Why? Because Zone 2 builds your aerobic base — more mitochondria, better fat burning, greater efficiency. It’s the system you use for 95% of endurance running. 📈 More volume, less intensity I gradually increased weekly mileage, keeping it mostly easy. More total time on feet → more aerobic adaptations → faster at lower effort. 💨 1–2 threshold sessions a week Just enough quality to raise the ceiling — think tempo runs or cruise intervals. These improved my lactate threshold: the pace I could hold before fatigue hits. 🧠 I trained by heart rate, not ego I didn’t chase pace. I let fitness come to me. Over time, my Zone 2 pace dropped dramatically — same effort, way faster pace. 🛌 Recovery was part of the plan Every 4–6 weeks, I’d back off for a deload week. Sleep, nutrition, low stress — no gains without recovery. 🏋️ Strength 1-2x/week Not for aesthetics — for injury prevention and running economy. Run slow to run fast. Build the base, respect the process, and the speed will come later 🔥 PureSport CODE GRIFF TO SAVE!!!! Zone 2 is really where the magic happens. You build your aerobic capacity. You improve body s ability to utilise energy sources . And train your heart to work efficiently.and you do it all without spiking your cortisol or increasing the risk of injury . #endurance #runner #coach

HERE’S WHAT A ZONE 2 RUN LOOKS LIKE I had some trouble understanding what a zone 2 run was before. For many years I would run at the same pace while maybe throwing in some intervals. I used to think if I wasn’t running hard, then I wasn’t making progress. And I definitely wasn’t even doing enough to burn calories. But plenty of evidence has shown the benefits of running easier; injury prevention, building aerobic base, and helping you run longer distances are a few of the more well known benefits. Now that I feel like I’ve dialed it in, this is what a zone 2 or easy effort should look like. If you’re not able to find it, you may just need to put in more mileage, or consider trying a run/walk strategy. Hope that helps! Zone 2 gets all the hype, but let’s talk about the other zones that make you a stronger, faster runner! 🚀 🔥 Zone 3 – Tempo Runs 🔥 The sweet spot for building sustained speed & endurance. Running at a comfortably hard pace (about 80-90% of your threshold) trains your body to hold a faster pace for longer. 10-20 minute intervals with rest or slow jogs between! ⚡ Zone 4 – 4x4 Intervals ⚡ Want to boost your VO2 max & race-day speed? Try 4x4 intervals: 4 minutes hard (Zone 4), 3 minutes easy, repeat 4 times. This trains your body to clear lactate more efficiently, making hard efforts feel easier over time. 🏔️ Zone 5 – Hill Sprints 🏔️ Max effort, short bursts. Sprinting uphill for 8-12 seconds builds power and speed without the impact of flat sprints. Perfect for stronger strides and that extra gear when you need it most. A well-rounded runner doesn’t live in just one zone—mix it up and watch your performance skyrocket! 🚀🏃♂️ What’s your favorite non-Zone 2 workout? 👇 #RunningTraining #SpeedWork #StrongerRunner #runrunrun #runcoach #runningtechnique #gloucester
