I’m so glad I started doing art shows and markets! 🌾💌🌸 I had my first art market back in the summer of 2022 and since have sold at all types of shows, some big, some small. I didn’t realize what joy it brought me that others actually liked my work and some even wanted something for their own home! It is such a blessing to feel that I can help bring beauty to different stranger’s lives. I love to create and love when others can share in that. 🤍 • • • • • • • #artseller #illustrationartist #procreateartist #watercolorartist #watercolorflorals #artshows #artshow #artmarket

I recently made a sales record for my general fair events! Selling art to the general public can be tricky. Here are the 5 things I changed that helped with sales: 1. Placing eye catching items at the entrance. I placed my tote bags and large print portfolio at the front and I could hear people talk about the items from outside as they walked in to check out my things hehe 2. Adjusting small things for optimal browsing and buying. I obsessed over reducing any friction when it comes to buying. Self serve stations, being able to easily pick up and look through items are all super helpful. This time I decided to raise my print display height by a teeny bit. This was a much better height for adults. 3. Display board for stickers. When it gets crowded it’s very difficult for everyone to see. Having a display board + self serve station solves this. 4. Mystery bags. Make them. Do it. 5. Booth decor! I used up all my little decor bits and the booth had a nice vibe :) check out my other videos for how I made them. Happy vending! #artistsoninstagram #artistalley #artfairs # #artbusiness #artbusinesstips craftfair #craftfairdisplay #artistalleytips #sellingart #financialtransparency #artistsupport #businesstips

When I started selling my art, I had none of the things they told artists they needed to have. No fancy website. No representation. No art fairs. No big Instagram account. If you looked at my setup, you probably wouldn’t have guessed anything was “scalable.” But here’s what I did have: Clarity. I knew exactly who my art was for. And instead of trying to impress the entire internet, I focused on building real conversations with the right people. That’s what most artists skip. They build aesthetics. They build platforms. They build content. But they don’t build relationships. Over $200K in art didn’t come from traffic. It came from intentional conversations with serious collectors. Not random. Not lucky. Not viral. Structured. If you want to understand how that actually works, me and Maria Brophy break it down inside our free Art Sales System training. Inside, we go into: • The exact system behind the $200K • Why most artists are focused on the wrong metrics • How to find collectors without galleries or ads • And how to turn conversations into consistent sales If you want access to the free training, Comment “SYSTEM” and I’ll send it to you.

How much did I make at my record breaking art market?

How much did I make at my record breaking art market? About $400 dollaroonis!! Are you shocked?? lol. I sold out of a lot of items and regret not bringing a larger inventory, but at the same time, how did I have such a busy day that I made a sale about every 10-15 minutes but still only made $400? My items cost $2.50-$25, should I be selling some higher ticket items or something? The highest ticket item I sold, though, was $20. What am I doing wrong here? Regardless I still had a great time and am really proud of myself! #artist #artistlife #artistalley #artmarket

Now that I’ve done two Atlanta neighborhood festivals (Inman and Candler), I’m beginning to wrap my head around what works for me. I was always scared of the effort/risk it would take, but now I think more could definitely be in my future. 1. People come to find me, not knowing where to buy my work otherwise. I thought everyone knew where to purchase my work, but this provides a really convenient collecting opportunity for Atlanta buyers. 2. Murals stay in people’s minds, especially in restaurants. I was surprised how many people didn’t know who I was but looking at my work, connected the dots to Whiskey Bird, Talat, and Lazy Betty. It’s nice that they could naturally see the stylistic connection! 3. One positive connection with a collector holds a lot of weight. Social media interactions feel like a dime a dozen sometimes. To actually see a face and hear a voice and give a hug to someone who loves my work.. well that’s everything. 4. Quality work over quantity. I always ramp up making lots of new work before an event and this was no different. But I noticed that really it was only a handful of pieces that kept being picked up. What would it look like to create less, but be more intentional with each piece? 5. Paper is not intimidating to art buyers. I used to think the hurdle of custom framing would prevent people from collecting my work. Boy, was I wrong! People love to select their own framing option and can definitely value paper work just as much as canvas, maybe even … more? I did about $11k at Inman Park Fest (more if you count sales after the fact) and $9k at Candler. Inman had a TON more foot traffic and Candler had a rainy Sunday so I think they’re both very worthwhile to keep doing especially if people come to expect and look for me there. I’ve yet to do a festival in a different city. And I’ve yet to do a festival that is specifically focused on art so I’m not sure if these trends would hold. What’s been your experience? Let me know if you have any questions about what I did and I’ll answer them! #atlantaartist #atlantaart #asianartist #artfestival #artcareer #artistmotherco #southernartist #artmarket #artfair #abstractartists
