Recording the bass for my Halloween track '𝖜𝖍𝖆𝖙𝖊𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖕𝖊𝖓𝖘, 𝖉𝖊𝖆𝖙𝖍 𝖎𝖘 𝖓𝖔𝖙 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖊𝖓𝖉', (which is out 28th Oct on @kanedarecords ) with the Electronic Cow 'miniMOO' softsynth (a.k.a. Sound Chip Synth) on the @atari 1040ST, listen to that raw YM2149F sound chip power! Remember to subscribe to my Spotify / Bandcamp / YouTube etc (LINKS IN BIO) to get a notification when the track drops! Anyway, 'miniMOO' is a fun and compact standalone abandonware synth program offering a square wave oscillator, with two sub oscillators, a noise generator assignable to any oscillator, an amplitude modulator and an LFO. A standard ADSR envelope generator can be assigned to amplitude and/or pitch. It can also be played over MIDI (and I think all the synth parameters can also be controlled over MIDI too) and has portamento. Here we are at the solution of yesterday's riddle. Which computer was given to me? ATARI 1040 ST F with SM124 monitor! 🙂 The computer turns on and looks good. A key is missing (CAPS LOCK): I hope to be able to find it. Our new single “Car Song” comes out May 2nd. It’s from The Ataris first full length album since 2007. The 7” vinyl release is a tribute to my father William Roe. He was our biggest fan and supporter. He passed in 2014 due to complications related to his years of battling alcoholism. When I learned you could press a loved one’s ashes into vinyl, I immediately knew…. that’s what I wanted to do. What better way to celebrate my father’s life than to make him an actual physical part of the music he always supported and encouraged me to create. For anyone who knew my dad, they all agree this would be the biggest honor for him. A portion of this release will go to help families affected by alcoholism and addiction. The albums were called LOVE 2 LOVE. I was 18 years old , learning about music production on an Atari St. We went on to do 10 albums in the coming years.
