1. Being corrected for things you physically can’t change (hip sockets, arches, proportions). 2. Walking around with literal blood in your pointe shoes like it’s just part of the job 3. Standing on broken toenails and just taping them and continuing rehearsal like it’s nothing 5. Doing a full class and rehearsal on injuries you’d normally go to the ER for 6. Super gluing your pointe shoes and accidentally glueing your actual skin together 7. Being told you’re “almost there” for 10 years 8. Spending hours staring at yourself in a mirror analyzing every single inch of your body. 9. Wearing shoes that literally feel like concrete blocks until you “break them” 10. A lot of you have asked me how pregnancy is affecting my center and specifically turns. Apparently some women turn better pregnant! I am not one of those women. 😅 I’m most definitely not able to turn as quickly and my strength to stay on pointe has diminished.
