We discuss strategies to address hitting, biting, pinching, or pushing behavior in children at home. We explore potential underlying causes like frustration, communication issues, attention-seeking, or sensory needs. The key is to redirect the behavior rather than suppress it, especially at a young age. 🪑 1 — THE STRATEGIST You position yourself to see the whole room. You value perspective over proximity. Core truth: You are rarely caught off guard because you never stop observing. Advice: Occasionally, try being a participant instead of just a witness. 🪑 2 — THE OPEN BOOK You sit close enough to connect but far enough to stay independent. You value directness. Core truth: You have nothing to hide, but you expect the same honesty in return. Advice: Not everyone is as ready for the truth as you are; go slow. 🪑 3 — THE DREAMER You chose the seat closest to the window or the "edge." Your mind is often elsewhere. Core truth: You find the internal world much more interesting than the external one. Advice: Don't forget to ground yourself in the "now" occasionally. 🪑 4 — THE WALL You prefer having a corner or a definitive boundary. You hate being "exposed." Core truth: You prioritise your peace of mind above social expectations. Advice: Vulnerability isn’t a weakness; it’s a bridge to a deeper connection. 🪑 5 — THE ANCHOR You chose the most "centred" or balanced spot. You are the person people lean on. Core truth: You feel a subconscious need to be the "calm in the storm." Advice: Who supports the anchor? Make sure you have your own safe space. 🪑 6 — THE REBEL You picked the seat that feels slightly out of the "intended" flow. You dislike being told where to fit. Core truth: You define your own comfort, regardless of what others think. Advice: Independence is great, but don't isolate yourself just to prove a point. 🪑 7 — THE SHADOW You chose the furthest possible distance. You move through the world quietly. Core truth: You feel most powerful when you are invisible and undisturbed. Advice: You have a voice that deserves to be heard, even if it feels loud to you. 🪑 8 — THE EMPATH You chose the seat that offers the best "vibe" check of the person in front of you. Core truth: You are highly sensitive to the energy and moods of others. Advice: Learn to distinguish between your own emotions and the ones you’ve picked up from the room. #psychology #mindset #selfaware #trending #viral

1. We all tell our kids, “Go play,” “Put your tablet down,” “Find something else to do.” But the truth is, kids learn far more from what we do than what we say. If every spare moment we have — while waiting in line, cooking dinner, sitting on the couch, we reach for our phones, we’re teaching them that this is what downtime looks like.
That the default when you’re bored, tired, or alone… is to scroll. Behavior is learned through imitation. So if we model scrolling, they’ll model scrolling.
If we model presence, curiosity, and finding real-life reinforcers… that’s what they’ll learn too. 2. To our kids, there is nothing more valuable than parental attention. And the behaviors we pay attention to are the ones that increase. But when we’re on our phone, we’re not really paying attention, at least not to them. So even when they’re playing nicely, sharing, or being patient, those positive behaviors often go unnoticed. The outcome? When the good stuff doesn’t get our attention, kids stop doing it as often because it no longer “works.” 3. Attention-Seeking Behaviors (and How We Accidentally Create Them): When kids don’t get noticed for the good stuff, they’ll find something that does get a reaction. And they’re smart about it. They learn fast that yelling, whining, or interrupting gets a response every time. And it’s not that they’re trying to be difficult. They’re trying to reconnect with us in the only way that seems to work. So those behaviors increase… not because they want to misbehave, but because they’ve learned it’s the surest way to get our attention. The good news? We can flip that pattern anytime. A few intentional moments of noticing the right things can completely change the tone of our day. Your child’s behaviour should not run the room. Today in a store, I watched a parent accidentally reinforce every negative behaviour with constant attention, repeated explanations, and empty threats with no follow-through. And this is the reminder so many parents need: attention can strengthen behaviour. Even negative attention. If you want behaviour to change: ✔️ Stop overexplaining in the moment ✔️ Make the expectation clear ✔️ Give one calm instruction ✔️ Follow through ✔️ Redirect to what they should be doing Kids need leadership more than lectures Boundaries more than bargaining. Consistency more than warnings. Correct. Redirect. Follow through. That’s how collaboration is built. #ParentingTips #ChildBehaviour #PositiveParenting #ParentingSupport #MomLife
