BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) é o principal protocolo responsável por interconectar diferentes redes na internet, conhecidas como Sistemas Autônomos (AS). Cada AS pode representar um provedor de internet, uma grande corporação ou até a infraestrutura de um país. O BGP é o mecanismo que determina o melhor caminho para que os pacotes de dados alcancem seu destino, realizando a troca contínua de informações de roteamento entre esses sistemas. Como funciona: Cada roteador que utiliza BGP mantém uma tabela de rotas contendo múltiplos caminhos possíveis para diferentes destinos. Essas rotas são anunciadas para roteadores vizinhos, que, por sua vez, comparam os caminhos recebidos com base em diversos critérios, como atributos de rota (AS_PATH, LOCAL_PREF, MED), políticas definidas pelo administrador e confiabilidade do percurso. A melhor rota é então selecionada e utilizada para o encaminhamento dos pacotes. Em caso de falha, o protocolo reconverge dinamicamente, recalculando e propagando uma nova rota válida. Tipos de BGP: • iBGP (Internal BGP): utilizado dentro de um mesmo AS, permitindo a troca de rotas entre roteadores internos. • eBGP (External BGP): utilizado entre diferentes AS, sendo essencial para a comunicação global entre provedores e a própria estrutura da internet.
