Wondering how to traverse a binary tree? ๐ณ Hereโs a simple breakdown of each technique: 1๏ธโฃ Inorder Traversal: - Visit the left subtree - Visit the node - Visit the right subtree - Useful for getting nodes in non-decreasing order. 2๏ธโฃ Preorder Traversal: - Visit the node - Visit the left subtree - Visit the right subtree - Great for creating a copy of the tree. 3๏ธโฃ Postorder Traversal: - Visit the left subtree - Visit the right subtree - Visit the node - Used mostly for deleting or freeing nodes and space of the tree. B-Tree Follow @ghazi_it Follow @ghazi_it Follow @ghazi_it The limitations of traditional binary search trees can be frustrating. Meet the B-Tree, the multi-talented data structure that can handle massive amounts of data with ease. When it comes to storing and searching large amounts of data, traditional binary search trees can become impractical due to their poor performance and high memory usage. B-Trees, also known as B-Tree or Balanced Tree, are a type of self-balancing tree that was specifically designed to overcome these limitations. Properties of B-Tree: All leaves are at the same level. B-Tree is defined by the term minimum degree โtโ. The value of โtโ depends upon disk block size. Every node except the root must contain at least t-1 keys. The root may contain a minimum of 1 key. All nodes (including root) may contain at most (2*t โ 1) keys. Number of children of a node is equal to the number of keys in it plus 1. All keys of a node are sorted in increasing order. The child between two keys k1 and k2 contains all keys in the range from k1 and k2. B-Tree grows and shrinks from the root which is unlike Binary Search Tree. Binary Search Trees grow downward and also shrink from downward. Like other balanced Binary Search Trees, the time complexity to search, insert, and delete is O(log n). Insertion of a Node in B-Tree happens only at Leaf Node. Following is an example of a B-Tree of minimum order 5 Note: that in practical B-Trees, the value of the minimum order is much more than 5. Applications of B-Trees: It is used in large databases to access data stored on the disk Searching for data in a data set can be achieved in significantly less time using the B-Tree With the indexing feature, multilevel indexing can be achieved. Most of the servers also use the B-tree approach. B-Trees are used in CAD systems to organize and search geometric data. B-Trees are also used in other areas such as natural language processing, computer networks, and cryptography. #programming #coding #programmer #python #developer #javascript #technology #code #java #coder #html #computerscience #software #tech #css #webdeveloper #webdevelopment #codinglife #softwaredeveloper

The Computer Science Forest! ๐ฒ๐ป (4 Types of Trees You Must Know) โ โIn nature, trees grow from the ground up. But in Computer Science, they grow completely upside down! ๐ โHierarchical data is everywhere, but you can't just use one type of tree for everything. Depending on the problem you are trying to solve, you need to pick the right tree from the forest. Here are the 4 essential types: โ1. The Binary Tree (The Foundation) ๐ฑ โThe Rule: Every node (parent) can have a maximum of TWO children (Left and Right). โThe Use: It is the basic building block. Think of a simple family tree or an elimination bracket in a sports tournament. There are no strict sorting rules here, just a simple branching structure! โ2. The Binary Search Tree / BST (The Organizer) ๐๏ธ โThe Rule: Left is Less, Right is More! โThe Use: Lightning-fast searching. Because everything smaller goes down the left branch and everything bigger goes right, the computer can instantly eliminate half the tree with every single step. It turns a billion records into a 30-step guessing game! โ3. AVL & Red-Black Trees (The Gymnasts) ๐คธโโ๏ธ โThe Rule: The tree must perfectly balance itself! โThe Use: If you feed a BST numbers in perfect order (1, 2, 3, 4), it turns into a slow, heavy straight line. AVL and Red-Black trees fix this! Every time a branch gets too heavy, the algorithm performs a mathematical "rotation," flipping the nodes around to keep the tree perfectly balanced and fast. โ4. The Trie / Prefix Tree (The Mind Reader) ๐ง โThe Rule: Nodes store letters instead of numbers, and paths spell out words! โThe Use: Have you ever wondered how Google Autocomplete knows exactly what you are typing after just two letters? It uses a Trie! If you type "C" and "A", the tree instantly points down the branches to "T" (Cat), "R" (Car), and "P" (Cap). โWhich tree is your favorite? Let me know in the comments! ๐ โFollow @plotlab01 for more Data Structures, Algorithms, & Tech Visuals! ๐ โ โTypes of Trees, Binary Tree, Binary Search Tree, AVL Tree, Red Black Tree, Trie Data Structure, Prefix Tree, Data Structures, Computer Science Basics, Algorithms, Coding Interview Tips, Software Engineering, Plotlab01.

A binary tree is a hierarchical data structure where each node has at most two children, referred to as the left child and the right child. Core Concepts Root: The topmost node of the tree. Leaf Node: A node with no children. Internal Node: A node with at least one child. Height: The number of edges on the longest path from the root to a leaf. Common Types Full Binary Tree: Every node has either 0 or 2 children. Complete Binary Tree: All levels are filled except possibly the last, which is filled from left to right. Perfect Binary Tree: All internal nodes have two children, and all leaf nodes are at the same level. Balanced Binary Tree: The height of the left and right subtrees of every node differs by at most one. Binary Search Tree (BST): A specialized version where the left subtree contains values less than the parent, and the right subtree contains values greater. #binarytree #datastructuresandalgorithms #digitalcreator #programmingmemes #codingmemes
