So...the Serpent Trail ladies are back. But this time we're forging a new trail, which at this stage is called Gerald's Way (more details anon). It is from Haslemere to Arundel via Petworth. We missed the bus (don't ask) but eventually made it to the start. From there, we've walked to Blackdown which as you can see, is heavily congested with Belted Galloway. Otter Valley Ice Cream & Field Kitchen This was one of the first places on my list and boy, it smashed expectations! Delicious ice cream, great coffee and a very tempting food menu. I had a blackberry ripple and sea buckthorn flavour which I loved while the rest of the family enjoyed their chocolate and coffee ones. Their lunch menu included freshly made stone baked sourdough pizzas, which we are most definitely coming back for! The views of the valley make everything better and are incredibly serene. Some raw footage to convince you to take your Troopy up to Blackdown Tablelands in QLD and spend a few days exploring. We tried to put some cool music over it, but the background noises are just so much nicer, just make sure you're not busting for a wee before watching as there's lots of running water sounds 💦 If youre nimble and sure-footed, go find the hidden ropes and ladder and try not to fall off a rock ledge like Vaughn nearly did 😅 We had an AMAZING couple of days here with our new Troopy friends Caity and Christian from @cq_naturetours - looking forward to our next catch up 🥰. Forever grateful for random campfire chats and exploring the amazing Aussie wilderness 🌿 Blackdown Tablelands is between Emerald and Rockhampton in Queensland. If you want to camp, you have to book online - it's roughly $7- $8per person per night. It's a National Park so no doggos. There are fire pits at each campsite and drop loos. Make sure you bring your own water. There's a 19km 4WD track, and a fair few hiking tracks. The road thete is steep, narrow and winding and only suitable for small camper trailers or small offroad vans. Bring your toggs and make sure you have a swim!
