GIANT SNAKE EQUALS GIANTT EGG CLUTCH! 🐍🥚 There’s nothing more rewarding than getting to care for a fresh clutch of python eggs and ensuring these little ones have the best chance at life! 🙌 Even if it means taking a bite or two along the way 😅 These eggs are looking strong, healthy, and full of potential 🔥 Can’t wait for these babies to start hatching😁

I’ve always thought python eggs look like potatoes 🥔 but I’ve heard a few different things and I’m interested - comment below what you think they look like ⬇️🐍🥚 For those who don’t know, Burmese pythons are an invasive species here in south Florida and have taken occupancy in the Everglades ecosystem. They are a top priority invasive species because of their huge negative impact on the Everglades ecosystem, especially with native mammal and bird declines. They are apex predators and have little/no natural predators here. Although it’s not their fault that they’re here, they have to be removed from the ecosystem. As snake lovers, we do this with compassion for them, but it has to be done. Every adult like the one I’m holding in the video has eaten many of our native wildlife to grow to this size - just like each surviving baby would, and we can’t allow them to continue to reproduce like this here. @reptilekyle and I have been focusing much of our management strategy on targeting reproducing adults and females on nests. By getting them on the nest, we can get these high-target reproducing females as well as reassuring that none of these potential babies would have the chance to survive. Overall, removing one nest subsequently saves hundreds of native animals from being eaten. We got this beautiful Python egg clutch from this beautiful yellow momma python 🥚🐍 The infertile egg might seem shocking or strange, but don’t worry, it’s totally common and a natural part of snake reproduction. So why did it happen when its siblings are perfectly fertile 🤔It’s simple biology, for a snake egg to be fertile, the female’s egg must be successfully fertilized by the male. This one either wasn’t fertilized at all, or developed stopped very early. A bit peculiar but totally normal! ✨🤗

These eggs were actually really heavy! Best guess is that collectively the nest weighed around 30lbs! . #python #burmesepython #burm #burmese #snake #foryou #fyp #fypシ #explore #explorepage #foryoupage #everglades #florida #floridaman #nature #wildlife #invasivespecies #invasive #nest #eggs #pythonnest #pythoneggs

431 PYTHON EGGS REMOVED this season! 8 NESTS!! 🐍🥚 Go watch our new YouTube video on it out now! As Kyle said in the last post, we not only surpassed our record of 131 python eggs removed, but we more than TRIPLED our efforts from last year!! Which is so rewarding for us considering the literal years of research, time, energy, blood and sweat we’ve put into figuring this out. We feel strongly that this strategy is especially effective in managing these invasive species. To put it into perspective, the amount of eggs we removed this season is more than the amount of pythons we’ve removed over 5 years. Please, if you think this is cool and want to see more, go watch our latest YouTube video all about our first 2 nests of the season 🐍👐🏼🥚 #TheCritterCult #jointhecult

This angry snake wanted NOTHING to do with moving today 😅🐍 She laid those eggs outside of the box so I had to go in there and grab the clutch by hand and she was in a very bad mood! 😳 But this girl is actually very sweet but today those motherly instincts took over and she did not want anyone or anything near her clutch🙌 I can’t blame here though she’s just doing what any good momma would do 😁✨Luckily I was able to safely remove all those snake eggs and put them an incubator, after a couple minutes this girl returned to her normal self and had a meal😊💛

I got a lot of comments on my last post about "can you eat Python Eggs". The answer is "yes" but the eggs that we are removing are usually almost fully developed embryos.
