Learning about weather is one thing — measuring it yourself is another 🌦️ These Virginia third graders didn’t just read about temperature, wind, and rain… they built their own weather stations to track it. Think pill bottle rain gauges and paper cup anemometers. 👏 Creativity was everywhere. After a virtual classroom visit, AcuRite surprised them with an AcuRite Atlas® Weather Station — giving them accurate, real-time data to study weather patterns specific to their exact location. 🌡️🌬️🌧️ In this video, hear what they loved most about their DIY builds — and how they take weather to a whole new level. Real-world data. Real curiosity. Real learning. #AcuRite #STEMeducation #WeatherClassroom

🌤️ 5th Grade Science – Weather Unit Wrap-Up! 🌈 We are incredibly proud of our 5th graders and the hard work they demonstrated during their Weather Unit presentations! Students created severe weather safety guides, recorded weather forecasts, tracked 5-day weather journals, conducted hands-on experiments, performed skits and songs, built interactive games and models, and designed digital presentations. Throughout the unit, they confidently used science vocabulary such as atmosphere, humidity, precipitation, and air pressure while clearly explaining important weather concepts. ✝️ A special highlight of this unit was connecting science learning to a Biblical worldview. As students studied the atmosphere and the water cycle, they were reminded of God’s order and design in creation: “He covers the sky with clouds; He supplies the earth with rain.” – Psalm 147:8 We are grateful for their dedication, creativity, and the way they consistently strive to do their very best! 🌦️👏

In our Weather sensory and stem series, our students learned about Precipitation. These simple activities teach science in a way that is both memorable and fun. In the Stem experiment our students were able to use the scientific theory and broaden their understanding of cause and effect. In the sensory activity students used tubes and rice to mimic the sound of rainfall and learn more about precipitation. Join us every Monday & Thursday for a class full of learning, socialization and so much more! DM for more information! #Weather #stem #sensoryplayideas #prek #homeschool

Weather doesn’t have to stay abstract. 🌤️🌧️ In this Air Pressure Weather Systems Lab, students create a simple working barometer, track air pressure over several days, and connect their data to real weather changes happening outside their classroom window. What students do: • Build a barometer using everyday materials • Record daily air pressure changes • Analyze trends over time • Write evidence-based claims about upcoming weather • Connect local observations to larger weather systems Why teachers love it: • Easy prep, low-cost materials • Real data students collect themselves • Built-in CER writing and reflection • Perfect for Earth science and weather units • Tons of “ohhh THAT’S why” moments Comment WEATHER & I’ll send it to you now! By the end, students don’t just read a forecast — they actually understand it. 🌎📊

🌧️☔️💧To be honest I’m a bit over the 🌧️ but hey it’s one of those perfect teaching opportunities, this little cloud craft is part of my “Weather & Seasons” it’s perfect for your kindergarten / Year 1 science unit. We will also … 🌧️ do the rain in a jar experiment - see linked reel 🧪 🌧️ talk about the “cl” sound 👄 🌧️ write about a rainy day ✏️ 💧The raindrops are glued on to that plastic string that bunches of flowers 💐etc. are often wrapped in if you gently open them they’re perfect for this activity (I’m a hoarder of such things). You could also use strips of white paper.
