The speed 👀 A humanoid robot just learned to do a wallflip entirely through AI. The project was developed by researchers at Amazon’s Foundation Agents and Robotics team, using two systems called OmniRetarget and BeyondMimic. OmniRetarget uses deep learning to study how humans move and adapt those motions to a robot’s body and physics. BeyondMimic builds on that with reinforcement learning, allowing the robot to practice the flip repeatedly until it lands perfectly with no manual coding involved. After a few tweaks, it achieved a 5/5 success rate in real-world wallflips, showing how AI is now teaching robots complex, athletic skills once thought impossible. [ zhenkirito123 I X ]

If you think I always knew what I wanted to do… I definitely didn’t. Mechanical engineering threw so many paths at me — CAD, wiring, rocketry, prototyping, soft robots, 3D printing, machining, fabric work — and I tried all of them because I had no idea what “my thing” was supposed to be. It wasn’t until I stopped forcing myself to fit into the “expected” engineering paths and actually followed what I liked — the mix of creativity, fashion, robotics, movement, aesthetics — that everything finally made sense. Only when I allowed myself to like the things I genuinely enjoyed did I discover what I really wanted to do.
