🚂 This might be the most underrated (and important) part of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Only accessible by Wildlife Express Train out of Harambe (near the entrance to Kilimanjaro Safaris), Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Conservation Station includes a closer look at some of the park’s creatures, Animal Care and veterinary staff, conservation efforts, and even The Animation Experience where you can learn to draw Disney animals (in air conditioning)! 🚨🦁 With the changes to Conservation Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Animal Hospital is staying! 🦉🚨 💙 🧡 Bluey and Bingo are officially on their way after the temporary closure of Rafiki’s Planet Watch. But we spoke with Animal Programs on the last day and they confirmed that the corridor with reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids PLUS the windows to procedures is STAYING after the area reopens in Summer 2026! ‼️ 🏥 🐾 It could be tricky to catch some activity in the Vet Hospital but when you did, it was fascinating. So we are very excited that this section of Conservation Station will remain with the Bluey additions! The reason? Exciting new updates are on the way — including Bluey and additional Australian animal experiences coming to the area! 🇦🇺💙 While Affection Section and Conservation Station are expected to return in a refreshed way, The Animation Experience will not be reopening in this location. It’s believed the experience may move to Hollywood Studios in the future. Topenga Disney has officially announced that Conservation Station, along with the rest of Rafiki's Planet Watch at Disney's Animal Kingdom, will temporarily close starting February 23, 2026. The closure is to facilitate a major transformation of the area to include a new Bluey and Bingo character experience scheduled to open in Summer 2026. The Affection Section petting zoo will be permanently closed 😭. Word is that animals of Australia will be featured here, but it will no longer be a "touch the animals" encounter. I don't mind the Animation Experience going to DHS and Bluey setting up shop inside in that space but I am worried about the surrounding area collateral damage. This is a hidden and relaxing escape from the busy park and a chance for children and adults to have up close and personal animal encounters. The message of conservation is king here. It would be a terrible loss if that goes away. The animal nutrition center and animal wellness viewing area are also here. Last ever animation course at Conservation Station 🥲 I used to love the animation courses in Hollywood studios back in the day, I wish they would bring that experience back to its fullest… including real animators, not an animatronic please 😅 I’m pretty sure this was Jacob’s first animation course though, which was sad.
