My Best Garden Hack… I absolutely LOVE my container garden and every year I have a different theme and create something different! I do it all on a budget and over HALF of this container garden has been in the same pots for years! Here are my top tips for creating one ON A BUDGET: 🌱 Grow from seed. I grow lots of annuals myself so I save money. One of my pots might cost me 10p in seeds! 🌱 Buy plug plants. Any annual bedding plants I buy early in the spring and keep them protected from frost. They arrive as teeny plug plants and it’s the cheapest way to buy them. 🌱 Take cuttings and divide perennials. Any perennials I have in the garden or I love in anyone else’s garden I take cuttings of. ALL the perennials in pots are were propagated. 🌱 DON’T waste compost. If a pot is done I remove the dead plants, shake off ALL the excess soil into buckets where I add garden soil, fish blood and bone powder and mix in some fresh. FEED your soil don’t waste it. Perennials and shrubs in pots I mulch just like I do my garden! Under this decking is concrete! There was so soil, no life and no garden! You can grow a garden anywhere! 🌷Comment below if you’d like any of my links sent to you 😘 MEMBERSHIP- Join My Beginner Gardening Club COURSE - Buy my ‘Beginner Gardener Course’ BLOOMZ- FREE Dahlia Grow Along STORE- My Amazon Storefront BORDERZ-Buy my ‘Borders For Beginners’ Course POTZ- Buy my ‘Container Gardening’ Course GROWALONG - FREE seed grow-a-long COLLECTION - My seed collection Follow me @lookinsidemygarden for: 🌸 Daily gardening on stories 🌱Beginner gardener tips 🪴 Grow alongs ✨ Garden transformations 💕Life, laughs and community #gardening#gardeningtips#garden

Most people think more pots mean more impact - but it’s often the opposite. A dozen little containers dry out faster, look cluttered, and never really thrive. If I can, I always go for as big a container as possible. It holds more soil, so roots grow deeper and stronger. It stays moist longer - meaning less watering. And it instantly gives structure and focus to a space. This big pot of dahlias, salvias and friends is a good example - the container’s doing half the work. So, my advice would be - skip the army of tiny pots if you can. Go big, and let your plants do the talking. #PetePlants #containergardening

When I started container gardening six years ago, I thought I was going to be very limited in what I could grow. Turns out that couldn’t be further from the truth! I’ve grown dinner plate dahlias, hydrangeas, fruit trees, watermelon, evergreens, all my favorite vegetables, a ton of cut flowers and more all in containers on my rooftop deck! I do have a few limitations, like the ability to carry a pot or plant upstairs and weight limits on my deck, but there hasn’t been a single plant I’ve really wanted to grow but can’t. As urban and small space gardening becomes more popular, the amount of compact varieties coming to market is growing giving those of us growing in pots even more options! I used the think I had to wait until I had a yard to have a garden. Well I’m glad I got tired of waiting and decided to go for it anyway! I can’t believe the joy I would have missed out on if I was still waiting for that yard. #gardening #containergardening #containergarden #urbangarden #balconygarden #gardenlife

This is a big pro tip in the garden when making your container gardens!!!! And it works like Magic every time!

Welcome to my Wilsonparkgarden. I have a container garden with about 300 containers 40-50 cm diameter. The most important is to use good soil. I put 3-5 dahlias in each pot. I use soil with osmocote. Then it bust be well drained. You also need to water regulary. Also rainy days you need to check your containers. So its not so difficult. Good luck😃#mygarden #instagarden #gardeninspiration #garten #flowermagic #flores #flowersofinstagram #containergardening #containergarden
