AFRICAN BLUE BASIL - This is my favorite basil to grow that I do not eat! Not to say that you can’t eat it, every part of it is actually edible. No, instead I grow it for it’s beauty and that it brings so many different pollinators into the garden. It does this year round as it is a perennial version of basil. It’s a hybrid of dark opal basil and camphor basil, which means that it cannot be replicated from seed. In fact, it’s sterile! The only way you can propagate it is by taking cuttings, which for basil is actually quite easy...just cut off the growing tip of any of the stems and rooted in water or soil and you’ve got a new African blue basil plant.
