Ps : Exceptions like you , flu are taught as a tricky words and these rules apply for English words and not for words originated from French/Greek/ Latin/ Arabic . A little pronunciation tip! Did you know these words are actually pronounced different depending on the context? Close: (adjective/adverb) to be near to someone - pronounce with an S at the end! klowS Close: (verb) to close, as in to close a door 🚪- is pronounced with a Z at the end! klowZ Fun, right? 😜

The vowel sounds— a, e, i, o, u— often seem similar with only slight differences, making it tricky for children. Pair “oa” will never come at the end and instead of that write “ow” ⁉️How to teach to the child : Whenever the child is hearing /oa/ sound in the beginning and in the middle of the word write “oa” . But If the child hear /oa/ sound at the end of the word then write “ow” instead of “oa”.
