In the beginning, it wasn’t obvious to anyone that Rosie was sick. She was diagnosed as gross-motor delayed and physical therapists worked with her to improve the strength and stamina required to catch up with her peers. This was all considered fairly normal. Her progress in PT was slow, but evident. She started walking the stairs holding onto the spindles instead of crawling. She learned to kneel and squatted to pick up toys with ease. Still, the nagging feeling that something was wrong grew stronger. In the mornings when she woke up, she seemed so weak. As her communication improved, she began to convey that she was experiencing pain with increasing frequency. There were days when she refused to walk at all. When she was 2.5, we were encouraged by a savvy PT to push for bloodwork and a consult with neurology - just in case. #mldawareness #MLD #metachromaticleukodystrophy

People say he’s delayed. They say he should be doing this by now… or that by now. But he doesn’t know any of that yet. He just knows puddles are exciting.Running makes him happy. And the world is full of things to explore. #senadventures #sentoddler #parentingjourney #developmentaldelay #toddler

This guy put in a lot of hard work this week! From balance training, to primitive reflex exercises, to laser therapy and tDCS, he’s been a trouper, determined to keep making progress. This is his reaction at the end of our intensive, when he got to see his hard work pay off. His brain is much more regulated and he’s come a long way in his physical milestones too! What a difference a week can make. #functionalneurology #pediatrictherapy #braindevelopment #developmentaldelay

A look at cams speech delay at 3 years old. He has come a long way and has a lot still to learn but we are grateful for every progress point ♥️ #speechdelay #speechtherapy #toddlerlearning #toddlerdevelopment #speechdelayedtoddler

Global Developmental Delay (GDD) means a child takes longer to reach developmental milestones in areas like speech, motor skills, learning, and social interaction. It’s usually diagnosed in early childhood, and every child’s journey with GDD is unique. So, I’m raising awareness, because with more understanding comes more compassion. And that can make all the difference for children like mine. #GlobalDevelopmentalDelay #GDDawareness #DifferentNotLess #InvisibleDisabilities #EveryMilestoneMatters

Early intervention directly influences long-term motor outcomes. Clinical Context In children with developmental delay, foundational motor control must be addressed before functional skills can improve. Session Focus • Facilitating neck extension • Improving trunk stability • Promoting proximal stability for distal mobility • Enhancing shoulder weight bearing • Developing postural control and alignment Why It Matters Proximal stability forms the base for distal function. Without adequate trunk and shoulder control, coordination, balance, and purposeful movement remain limited. Correcting the foundation improves overall movement quality and supports functional independence. 1 year of patience, therapy & never giving up 💛 From no head control… to sitting… and now taking the first steps towards supported standing ✨ This journey wasn’t easy — but every small progress matters. By 1.5 years, a child should speak a few clear words, and by 2 years, they should be forming short sentences. If a child isn’t saying any words or sentences by 2 years, it is considered speech delay. Causes may include excess screen time, genetic or hereditary factors, neurodevelopmental issues, behavioral concerns, or autism. Therapy—especially speech therapy—may help, but the parent’s role is the most crucial. In the first 2–3 years, the brain develops rapidly. Children need quality, distraction-free time with parents: talking, playing, reading stories, interacting, exploring, and socializing daily. This rich engagement stimulates brain pathways, and many children naturally overcome early speech and communication delays. Parents have an immense, irreplaceable influence on shaping their child’s developing brain.!❤️🧠 #braindevelopment #firstthousanddays #speechdelay #behaviour

I’ve never really talked about Salem‘s speech delay online. For a while I wasn’t sure if he had one or not because Wilder was so advanced with his speech that I wasn’t sure if Salem was progressing normally and we were just expecting too much out of him but it eventually got to a point where I knew that he definitely needed additional help. We went to his Doctor who was super helpful and they immediately got the ball rolling and got him into speech therapy. I’m so glad they took us seriously instead of the horror stories we’ve heard of people being told they “don’t assess until they’re in school” or to “just wait it out” because early intervention is SO important. He’s been working so hard since the end of last year and he’s come so far but this new development is the one that means the most to me. I’ve said it to him his whole life and he’s never acknowledged it or said it back so this was a huge win for us 🥰 #speechdelay #toddlerspeechtherapy #toddlermom #toddlerlife #boymom #hugewin #speechtherapy #earlyyearssupport #earlyintervention

If you ever see a child flapping their hands, making noises, or moving their body in ways you don’t expect... that’s not bad behavior. That’s stimming. For my son, it means he’s happy, focused, or feeling something big. Telling him to stop wouldn’t help — it would only make things harder. Drop a 💙 if you’ve ever been judged or misunderstood. #autismmom #autismmomlife #autismjourney #nonverbalautism #stayathomemomlife #workfromhomemom #onlinebusiness #digitalmom #momof5 #autismfamily #digitalmarketingformoms #momssupportingmoms
