I defended my doctoral thesis yesterday. It’s a mix of emotions, but above all, I feel content and deeply grateful. The “one day”I’ve been longing for has finally come. It hasn’t been an easy ride. I still remember the moment I first stepped onto this campus for the first time, right in the middle of COVID peak, and now I see how far I’ve come. I’ve grown so much 🥹 Thank you all for the prayers and support 💜 #phd #phddefense #japan #kyotouniversity #studenttraveler

Doctoral Graduates are a variation or the Doctoral Thesis, which itself is a variant of the Book Report, which is a diddled variant of the Choo Choo....which is a variant Paradiddle. Here are answers to some of the questions I most frequently see when I post about my work on my PhD in English literature! 📚 What is my doctoral dissertation about? My research focus is hospitality in early modern English literature, or to be even more specific: representations of dysfunctions of hospitality in English literature, primarily drama, 1585-1642. This means basically that I’m looking at how hospitality was defined and practiced in this time period, and analyzing pieces of literature in which hospitality is happening and people are treating each other badly. I love my research, because hospitality is so consistently valued across time and culture, but has such specific significance in my time period… I never get tired of reading and writing about this! 📚 How did I come to choose this topic? The short version of this is, I worked as a baker for 3 years after undergrad and so decided I would focus on food studies when I went back to school for my MA, and my research in food studies (food production, banquets, etc.) led me to scholarship on hospitality. For a longer version of this, you can check out my YouTube - I have a video titled “My PhD Research Journey” where I talk in detail about how my research interests evolved over the past decade! 📚 How long have I been in grad school? One thousand years… or six. Six years. I applied to a continual MA-PhD program, which meant that after the first two years I earned my Master’s degree and internally reapplied to pass on to the PhD stage, which I have been working on for four years now! 📚 Where am I working on my dissertation? I’m enrolled in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, but for the past two years have been working remotely! This is something I’m extremely lucky and privileged to be able to do. Through my partner’s work we were able to move to Andorra, the micro-state between France and Spain. So these days I sit up in my home office of our attic apartment looking out at the mountains and working away at my doctoral dissertation (and my ongoing attempts to write a romance novel…) living my best madwoman in an attic life! #englishphd #phdlife #lightacademia #shakespeare

I wrote my doctoral dissertation on the medical relevance of frequency medicine and the healing it brings when we administer a resonance frequency to the body via microcurrents or scaler waves. I have studied with the leading doctors in both the United States and Portugal who have worked in frequency medicine for decades, offering treatment to the top 5% of medical cases where western medicine doctors and surgeons had said “I’m sorry, there’s nothing more we can do” to patients, I’ve witnessed miraculous shifts in “untreatable” diseases through administering of frequencies to the body. Here’s the thing— the body is electric. For a very long time— we have looked to heal the body through biochemical methods. Through Pharmaceuticals... through analyzation .. through chemical processes But that’s not the way the body works. The body is electric. We know this by the electrical current that happens when you touch your smartphone screen. From EKGs and EEGs By measuring the millivolts of the body and correlating a specific millivolts to when tumors start to form and illness begins. Health can be seen through electrical current in your body. And when you die. Your electrical current is measured at 0. So... when looking towards the radiant health we are all seeking, it must match the bodies way of working. Through electricity. More people are waking up to this truth and understanding. After all —Like attracts Like. And as I slowly begin to rood down deep into my offerings within my doctorate space, I will be sharing more of my passion and wisdom and offerings within this realm because what I found most profound within this curtain pull of my studies was that, most of this knowledge and wisdom is not mainstream—it’s not often accessible either. So, thank you for allowing the slow unfurling process of my wisdom and offerings. Thank you for accepting and witnessing me in the process of it all landing with me as a conduit spirit into matter (both digitally and physically—and of course electrically)!!!

IG ate the last text bubble - all so you can travel the world with your family without accruing debt or financial stress. The first girl math Reel I saw, I chuckled. Then I saw a few more and became annoyed. If you haven’t seen them, it’s a Reel about how your trip is free because you paid off your credit card a few months ago and that’s girl math!! The implication being that girl math is not understanding how budgets and spending actually work. Totally harmless, right? Or is it…. - HS girls have slightly higher math grades than their male counterparts, but… - HS girls are less likely to take AP STEM classes, because - As early as elementary school children express awareness of stereotypical beliefs that STEM classes are for boys, and - By middle school girls report lower confidence in science and math, which continues into adulthood with - Only 20% of STEM degrees going to women, and… - Women who excel in STEM professionally being viewed as less likable than their male peers. The travel community on IG is full of women who have mastered travel hacking to save five-digit sums while traveling with kids, who squeeze PTO to its fullest, figure out how to finance gap years, plan the perfect road-trips across country to minimize travel time while maximizing fun, and create content and negotiate for higher rates. That’s girl math. It’s real, hard, and impressive. Let’s not sell ourselves short. Girl math isn’t funny, it’s impressive AF. Don’t believe I’m qualified to give this TED talk? In addition to working in data, I wrote a masters thesis on gendered use of mathematical concepts by teachers in PreK classrooms and a doctoral dissertation on multilevel models for detecting item bias in standardized tests (ie gender bias). Tag the girl math boss in your life in the comments! I’ll get back to the travel content now! Our next destination guides will be Park City, Belize, and Guatemala. **All stats are from the American Association of University Women, a nonprofit that fights to remove barriers to gender equity. Don’t know the difference between equity and equality? I’m happy to give another TED talk. . . #girlmath #womeninstem #womeninscience

Tres años confiando en el trabajo excelente del Doc @drflorescenter 💉🫦✨ Un increíble profesional y además un gran ser humano.

I used to struggle with literature review but when I followed these tricks it saved me hours. These are the tricks ⬇️ 1️⃣START WITH A PHD THESIS, NOT JOURNAL ARTICLES Journal papers are short, dense, and hard to follow if you’re new. A PhD thesis is like a book: • More context • Deeper explanations • A goldmine of references! (Tip: You can download theses for free at www.oatd.org) 2️⃣USE A LITERATURE MAPPING TOOL Try tools like ResearchRabbit to: • See how papers connect • Discover new research • Build a visual overview of the field Way better than scrolling endlessly through Google Scholar! (Tip: ResearchRabbit is a free tool) 3️⃣SKIM ABSTRACTS TO FILTER QUICKLY Not every paper is worth reading fully. A PhD thesis is like a book: • Read the abstract first • Skim the conclusion • Decide if it’s relevant • Move on if it’s not - no guilt! (Tip: Use Notion to organize your notes) 4️⃣TAKE NOTES. ALWAYS. Use Notion, OneNote, Obsidian or any note taking tool of your choice. Include: • Date & full citation (incl. authors, year, title) • Link or DOl for quick access • Key takeaways (main findings, methods, relevance to your topic) • How it connects to your research (gaps, agreements, contradictions) IT’S NORMAL IF ONE PAPER TAKES YOU MULTIPLE DAYS AT FIRST, YOU WILL GET FASTER🐥 FOUND THIS POST USEFUL? Tag a fellow researcher who needs this 📌 Follow for more academic tips 🫰🏻♥️ . . #phd #phdstudent #research #phdlife #scholar #students #phdcandidate #researchpaper代写 #literaturereview #studenthelp #researchtopic #researcher
