The Blue-necked Tanager is a species with colors almost too vibrant to comprehend. We were exploring @tesoro_reserve when we set up at a new base camp to do some surveys; the habitat was higher in elevation but was regrowing forest edge habitat. Ideal to find tanagers working exposed edges for fruiting trees. Even in a sea of green, that vibrant blue hood sticks out. All birds are handled with proper permits and training.
