Historic Blizzard of 2026 – New England First and foremost, although I was not born in this country, I have been a New Englander since the age of 7. This region raised me, shaped me, and became my home. I still remember walking to school during a powerful snowstorm in Somerville, Massachusetts in the early 1980s. I didn’t know there was a snow day because I didn’t yet understand the language. My mom had already left for one of her two full-time jobs. That moment has stayed with me. It reminds me how far we’ve come — and how deeply rooted I am in this community. Today, during the Historic Blizzard of 2026, I am grateful. Thank you to our state and local authorities for trusting the science and acting decisively. Thank you for relying on the National Weather Service, on meteorologists, weather presenters, and responsible social media outlets to deliver critical information in time for families to prepare. Science, technology, leadership, and passion must go hand in hand when Mother Nature makes her impact. And this week, they did. I am privileged to continue providing my simple — yet deeply passionate — weather reports to the community that has given me so much. To everyone who supports me, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes: thank you. Your trust means everything. We prepare. We inform. We care.
