Follow @jkb.journal for free kitchen herbal education Comment OILS for a FREE FOUR PAGE GUIDE💚 There is something deeply grounding about learning how to infuse your own herbal oils. For thousands of years, women have used plant-infused oils as medicine, beauty care, and daily nourishment — long before shelves were lined with creams and serums made by strangers. When you learn this skill, you stop outsourcing your skin, your healing, and your rituals. You begin making them with your own hands. Herbal oils matter because oil is one of the most absorbable carriers for plant medicine. It sinks into the skin, carries herbal compounds deep into tissues, supports lymphatic flow, nourishes fascia, softens inflammation, and restores the barrier that keeps your body protected. This is why infused oils become the foundation of salves, balms, rollers, body oils, and healing creams. Once you master oils, you can make almost anything. Four oils every woman needs to know how to make: Rose Oil — for emotional healing, heart support, hormonal balance, and radiant skin. Rose oil softens dryness, calms irritation, and reminds the nervous system how to relax. Calendula Oil — for wounds, eczema, rashes, scars, and sensitive skin. Calendula is one of the greatest skin healers in herbalism. Lavender Oil — for stress, sleep, headaches, burns, and irritated skin. Lavender brings calm to both the body and the mind. Yarrow Oil — for bruises, cuts, inflammation, joint pain, and first aid. Yarrow strengthens tissue and helps the body seal and repair. With these four oils, you can create: – Healing salves – Roller blends – Body oils – Face serums – Diaper creams – Muscle rubs – Lip balms – Scar treatments – Herbal perfumes This is how women used to live: capable, confident, and connected to their medicine. This isn’t about being “crunchy.” It’s about being skilled. It’s about knowing how to care for yourself and your family — beautifully, gently, and effectively. Learning the old ways and living the modern dream.

This has become my perfect night serum/moisturizer! All the all have anti inflammatory properties and you can always adjust the carrier oil quantities to make it suitable for your skin! You can also add rosehip seed oil in that one ounce mix. It didn’t work well for me to I stick to the original formula. Some added more castor due to dry oil and some skip caster!! The proportion is 1oz of carrier oil to 5drops of essential oil. I love the @gurunanda.official castor oil and frankincense. Have used those for years!

✨BODY GLOW OIL✨ In a 1 oz glass dropper: • Add equal amounts of jojoba oil & Young Living V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex leaving some extra room at the top. • Add 7 drops of each essential oil: Rose, Blue Cypress, Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, & Frankincense • Shake gently to mix. 💧 To use, add a few drops of Body Glow Oil to your body moisturizer or use on its own to moisturize, nourish and soothe dry skin on your body. ⭐️ Jojoba oil is extracted from the seeds of jojoba shrub, this lightweight oil can be used for all skin types. It keeps your skin hydrated, soothes irritated skin, balances natural oil production, provides antioxidant protection, has anti-inflammatory effects, and is rich in vitamin E. ⭐️ V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex is a blend of fractionated coconut oil, sesame seed oil, grape seed oil, sweet almond oil, wheat germ oil, sunflower seed oil, and extra virgin olive oil—all nourishing, antioxidant vegetable oils that are colorless and odorless and can be used to dilute essential oils and create custom blends, formulas, and massage oils. ⭐️ V-6 is my favorite carrier oil because it works with your skin to improve the natural skin barrier, helps soothe dry skin, is compatible with the skin’s natural pH levels and naturally extends and improves essential oil distribution. ⭐️ Rose, Blue Cypress, Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood and Frankincense essential oils are amazing for hydrating, moisturizing and nourishing your skin giving it a more youthful appearance. We’re so used to everything being fragranced, but skin doesn’t need strong scent to work. Instead of adding fragrance, I make botanical infused oils using chamomile, rose, and lavender 🌹🌼🪻 Each herb is infused on its own in organic jojoba oil (mine is from @MountainRoseHerbs) for 4–6 weeks to extract scent and skin benefits. Subtle, skin-first, and easy to use in body butters, balms, or as a simple body oil. #skincaretok #naturalskincare #diybeauty #slowbeauty #cleanbeauty

Pick your facial oil by how your skin feels right now. DRY: •Squalane (weightless comfort + seals) •Argan Oil (rich but usually non-greasy) •Avocado Oil (deeply nourishing) •Marula Oil (cushiony, “glow” finish) •Sweet Almond Oil (softening + great slip; go easy if you clog easily) •Olive Squalane / Olive-derived oils (comforting, very skin-like) If your skin is very dry / flaky •Evening Primrose Oil (especially if dryness comes with sensitivity) •Sea Buckthorn (in blends or tiny amounts) (strong, “treatment-y” — can stain, use sparingly) Comment: DRY — and I’ll send you my trusted oils DEHYDRATED: •100% Squalane (the easiest, most fool-proof “moisture seal” oil) •Jojoba Oil (balances + helps reduce that tight-but-shiny feel) •Grapeseed Oil (very light, great slip, ideal if you hate heaviness) •Hemp Seed Oil (light, comfortable; often works well if you clog easily) •Meadowfoam Seed Oil (cushiony but not greasy; great over hydration layers) •Camellia Seed Oil (silky, elegant feel—good for dehydration + dullness) Comment: DEHYDRATED — and I’ll send you my trusted oils SENSITIVE: • 100% Squalane (light, non-fragrant, usually the safest “starter” oil) • Argan Oil (cold-pressed) (comforting, barrier-supportive) • Jojoba Oil (technically a wax ester; often very well tolerated) • Meadowfoam Seed Oil (very stable, cushioning, good for reactive skin) • Sunflower Seed Oil (high-linoleic) (simple, barrier-friendly) • Camellia Seed Oil (silky, calm feel; usually non-irritating) If you’re clog-prone and sensitive: choose Squalane or Jojoba first. Comment: SENSITIVE — and I’ll send you my trusted oils CLOG-PRONE: • Hemp Seed Oil (light, glides well) • Grapeseed Oil (very lightweight, fast slip for massage) • Squalane (100%) (silky, non-greasy feel) • Jojoba Oil (very massage-friendly, tends to feel “skin-like”) • Meadowfoam Seed Oil (stable, cushiony slip without heaviness) • Rosehip Seed Oil (light but more “treatment-y” — use less and not every day if you clog easily) If you’re prone to closed comedones: stick to Squalane / Grapeseed / Hempseed first. Comment: CLOGGING — and I’ll send you my trusted oils 💌 Send this to a friend who needs it.

Skip the synthetic rose oils 🌹 This version is made from real botanicals that actually benefit your skin. Use it as a lightweight body oil, facial serum, or even for the ends of your hair. You’ll need: ✨ Dried rose buds (or chamomile, calendula - all calm and restore the skin) ✨ Almond oil as your base ✨ A little jojoba + castor oil for balance and moisture ✨ A few drops of vitamin E to extend shelf life Add your dried flowers to a jar, cover with oil, and gently heat-infuse for 30–45 minutes. Once cool, strain and pour into a glass bottle. For a botanical finish, drop in a few dried rosebuds (make sure they’re completely dry). 🪷 Tip: cold-infuse for 2–4 weeks to preserve more delicate compounds. Store away from light and heat and it’ll keep up to a year. #naturalskincare #herbalbeauty #diybodyoil #diyskincare #beautytok
