ILIZAROV FRAME 🔥🔥🔥🐊 What a cool contraption‼️‼️‼️ An Ilizarov external fixator (Ilizarov frame) is a ring-like brace. The frame is applied to the outside of the limb and connected through the unbroken part of the bone inside the limb. This is done by using a number of tensioned wires sometimes called pins. These wires/pins are attached to metal rods on the outside frame to provide bone stability This system helps provide a structural support to the limb and holds the broken bone fragments together so healing can take place over a period of time. It may be necessary to have this frame on your limb for a number of months. I got my knee back 🦿 It still doesn’t work, but it’s mines and I’m going to stick beside it!!! 😭 The last couple of days have taken me back to day 1. I was able to walk a little bit on my fixator (bed to bathroom) but I’ve been in too much pain to walk since last Friday. On Monday they removed my #ExternalFixator and completely set me back to October 29th. I can’t stand. I can’t walk. I can’t even get out of bed on my own. I know healing is a marathon but I am exhausted and 6 weeks from now I get to have yet another knee surgery that’s going to bring me right back to where I am now both physically and mentally. 😬 It’s ok tho….baby steps 👣 literally
