Join me as I try tying this wet version of a classic fly for the first time! I ordered the ‘Fly Tying for All Fish All Waters’ book from @flyfishersinternational and decided to try whatever fly I opened up the book to. I wasn’t disappointed! I’ve had my eye on the Royal Coachman for a while and I love the sleek look of the wet version. I subbed goose shoulder for mallard (didn’t have any) and when I tie it again, I’ll likely look for a fuller peacock herl and a mallard wing to get a less tapered profile, but it was a pleasure to tie, and I hope you enjoy it! 💙
