🍼 Foster plea! These 5 tiny kittens are only about 4 weeks old and need a foster ASAP. They’re still weaning, so for the next few days they’ll need to be syringe fed a slurry of wet food until they learn to eat on their own. It’s really easy to do, and we’ll show you how! After that, it’s just wet food, love, and care while they grow big enough for adoption. All they need is a safe little nook to grow big and strong in. **FOSTERS NEEDED** Every day during kitten season this year, the shelter has received dozens of kittens, some of them just weeks or days old. Just this past Sunday, the shelter received 36 bottle baby kittens that needed foster placement the same day. This year we have taken in an unprecedented number of kittens, and that number keeps rising every day. Fortunately, healthy and sweet kittens do get adopted fairly quickly. But most litters that come in to the shelter are bottle baby litters, and their care is extremely labor intensive. While the shelter always needs adopters, during kitten season, what we need the most are willing fosters. With every kitten that gets adopted, three more come and take its place. During this time of year, it is an endless cycle. We’ve said it a million times, and we will continue to say it, fostering saves lives. And this is even more important during a busy kitten season. We are desperately seeking people with cat handling experience to foster bottle babies and litters of kittens with mamas. Training, food and any necessary medical supplies will be provided. Listen up! Kitten season is upon us and these little ones need a safe landing place until they're ready to be adopted. That's where our kitten fosters come in. Over half of the kittens that arrive at our shelter will spend time in foster, from newborn bottle babies to adventurous little trouble makers. Some fosters take 1-2 kittens, while others take whole litters and mom. It depends on what our needs are, and what our fosters can accommodate!
