It’s the weekend, so here’s a little photo tip for you to try to practice if you are out taking pictures. Whenever you see paths, walkways, roads or even rivers, look out for leading lines to guide you viewer’s eye through the frame. Good composition is essential if you want to make more impactful photos and adding leading lines is a great way to make your compositions more interesting. Once you have found the leading lines, compose them within your frame so that they disappear into the background adding depth to the image. Here’s a PRO tip that I like to use to go one-step further. Once you have found your leading lines, you’ve composed them within your frame, then be patient and wait for a person or moving subject to move to the end point of the leading lines. This gives a focal point for the viewer’s eye to arrive at once they have followed the leading lines. Now you know how to do it! Being calm, reassuring, and decisive helps couples feel at ease while allowing moments to unfold naturally. Street Photography Street photographers rely more on observation than interaction. The skill lies in reading environments, anticipating moments, and blending into the scene without disrupting it. Landscape Photography Landscape photography is largely solitary. Success depends on patience, planning, technical mastery, and a deep understanding of light, weather, and location rather than people skills. Commercial / Product Photography Commercial photographers must communicate clearly with clients to understand brand identity, expectations, and deliverables. Precision, consistency, and professionalism matter more than personal connection with a subject. Documentary Photography Documentary photographers balance trust and invisibility. When interaction is required, empathy and respect are crucial, but the priority is authenticity and storytelling.

Learning about aperture ✨ Aperture is actually effected by your LENS! Different lenses allow for different ranges of aperture. The aperture also affects how much of your photo will be in focus! For portrait photography, people often keep a lower F stop. I prefer mine between 2-3.2 90% of the time! But when you’re taking landscape photos, you want to crank that F stop up so you can get the view as a whole in focus! There’s no one size fits all to how your camera settings SHOULD look, but you definitely need to learn them to become a professional photographer 🫶🏻

My favourite photography ideas you need to try!! If you want to be more intentional about your photography and take it to the next level you might want to try these photography composition techniques that I find useful. 1. Foreground framing This is probably the one you see me using most frequently. Whenever I am capturing some scenes I often take a step back and try including the natural frames I can find around me to add depth to the scenes. 2. Minimalism Find something that has simple repetitive patterns/colors yet shows an impactful image when used together. 3. Leading lines Find some leading lines in the foreground that bring the viewers’ attentions to the subject. Sometimes leading line doesn’t have to be straight they might just be some winding roads that lead to your subject. 4. Layering This is best achieved with some telephoto lens at some higher angle to compress the foreground and the background together and give the picture some depth and substance.
