What I used 👇🏽 A lot of people hit 6 HIIT sessions a week thinking “if I train like Hyrox, I’ll do good at Hyrox.” It doesn’t really work like that. You need to build each engine individually, both your aerobic capacity and your muscular endurance. This split is what I have found works best: Mon - rest day Tue - upper strength & intervals Wed- lower strength & erg work Thur - rest day Fri - upper strength & tempo run Sat - conditioning Sun - long run About 4 weeks out, increase conditioning and station work slightly. One week out, taper it back. Running 🏃🏼‍♀️ Intervals build speed and fast recovery (anaerobic). Tempo runs build your ability to run under fatigue. Long runs develop aerobic capacity. Think of your body as a car, your aerobic capacity is your engine and your anaerobic capacity is the throttle. Strength 🏋🏼‍♀️ Strength work develops the muscles you actually need on race day and trains the movement patterns of each station. Muscular endurance is so important to prevent fatigue and allow you to run under fatigue. Conditioning 💦 Erg conditioning improves efficiency on ski & row and builds threshold capacity (increasing your limit to work harder for longer).
