I asked how many holds people got on Libby and the answers ranged from 3 (way too few!) to 1000 (yes, one thousand!).  Most of us don’t get a thousand Libby holds and might need a few extra spots and this is an easy way to get them!  And if you need even more library cards, reply with the word CARDS and I’ll send the list of libraries that offer non-resident cards right to your DMs!

Did you know that the Libby app allows you to share library cards? This is a great way to either expand yours or a loved one’s library access. Two ways to do this: 1) Link multiple cards from the same library to a single Libby account. This allows you to extend the amount of digital holds you can place. 2) Login with the same library card across multiple devices. This comes in handy when one of you has access to a better library collection or a book with a shorter waitlist! ❓Did you know this? Libby has a new AI feature, Inspire Me, and we need to talk about it. I am asking for clarity on this AI feature, NOT so we can use it, but because there needs to be clear and concise information surrounding AI features like that are forced onto us. Where is it getting its information? How exactly is it providing super specific and specialized book recommendations? Can authors opt out for their books to be included? Most importantly, who asked for this??? Please share this far and wide so we can be aware of the AI features in our libraries, apps, and book spaces.

Newer releases typically have a wait time, but luckily there is a search filter for “available now” if you don’t want to wait! 🙋🏼‍♀️ Are you a libby user? If so, how many books do you have on hold? I typically have 10-30 on hold at any given time 🙃 LIBBY FAQs ❓How long do loans last? 💬 Depending on your library, 14-21 days ❓How do I return the books? 💬 Loans are returned automatically when they are due. If you finish before the due date, you can return early. Otherwise, the loan is removed from your device on the due date. ❓How many books can I borrow? 💬 Depending on your library, 10-20 items ❓All of the books I want to read aren’t available. What should I do? 💬 Popular pick and new releases have wait times. Place holds, and get multiple library cards from any city you have resided in. This way you have access to multiple library catalogs and can select the shortest wait time ❓What if I need a book right now? 💬 On the search page, use the “available now” filter.
